He was born on March, 22, 1944 in Shelby, NC. He was born June 16, 1950 to the late Rellie McDowell, Sr. and Eva Kee McDowell in Cleveland County. He was preceded in death by his siblings: Elouise Anderson, Eliminor McDowell, and Jessie Whitener; a sister-in-law, Penny Lockhart Canty; and father-in-law, Ray Lockhart, Sr. Mr. McDowell served our country in the U.S. Navy.
