Sonrise Event goes on despite no power Sherri Sebella News Editor sherri@pressdispatch.net The Road Riders For Jesus Sonrise Bike Show, Craft and Vendor Event, went on as scheduled at the Glezen Reviv- al Center did not let a power outage stop them from having the large event Saturday. "There is a huge tree that fell, down the road from here. It knocked out our power," said Alan Brock, National Evange- list for Road Riders For Jesus, who organized the event with his wife. "We've persevered and so have all the vendors. We have 38 vendors here today, three food trucks, a silent auc- tion with more than 70 items, and a bike show. Despite the storm, and no electricity, we've laughed and made it work." There was not an empty space in the Glezen Revival Center on Saturday, as ven- dors from all over Indiana came to sell their various crafts and merchandise. Motorcycles were lined up outside in the parking lot and food vendors stayed busy as people came to enjoy the event on a beautiful, sunny day. Some vendors used bat- ter y-powered lighting, and generators were busy provid- ing spotlights to brighten up the room due to no electricity. The Sonrise event was first started in 2016, according to Brock. "We usually hold two of these a year," Brock said. "This is our big event. We rent the facility. Some of my family and in-laws go to church here. When ever ything gets difficult and people come together, you can still have a good time."
