FAITH ANN FINNEGAN Faith Ann Finnegan en- tered into rest on June 18, 2022, at Amber Manor Care Center, after an extended ill- ness surrounded by her lov- ing family. She was bor n April 1, 1939 to her late mother, Pribble Mays. She mar ried Gene Finnegan in Novem- ber 1977. She was known for her sense of humor, enjoyed crafts, and her devotion to her children and grandchil- dren, she also loved to enter- tain and have a par ty or two. Kathy was bor n September 29, 1950, in Huntington, West Virginia to Pete and Peggy (Ray) Roberson. She mar ried Howard "Doc" Adkins on Febr uar y 16, 1970. She worked as a li- censed registered nurse for many years. She is sur vived by her husband, Howard "Doc" Adkins of Petersburg; her sons, Pete Adkins, of Mil- waukee, Wisconsin and Shawn Adkins, of Teays Valley, West Virginia; sev- en grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She attended Frankfor t Pilgrim College, where she met Mar vin, and to- gether they shared over fifty years of ministr y with the Wesleyan Church in Souther n Indiana. They pa- stored churches in Otwell, French Lick, Shelbyville, Evansville, and Ft. Branch. They also ser ved in district leadership for the Indiana South Wesleyan Church for 7 years. She loved being a pastor's wife and gave gen- erously to others through encouraging notes, phone calls, and visits. She is sur vived by her daughters, Jewell (Gene) Flick, Acacia (Mike) Peak, Jennifer (Dar rin) Eaton, all of Evansville, and Marl- issa (Michael) Stauf fer, of Hilliard, Ohio; 13 grand- children; four great-grand- children, with one more on the way; and siblings, Reo- va Meredith, Ver non Jewell, Laconda Wilson, Rita Car r, Rebecca Haney, and Reba McFall. She is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Mar vin L. Hughes. Sandy was bor n Januar y 20, 1944, to her parents, Gar rett and Imogene (Oli- ver) Abbott. She graduated from Oak- land City High School in 1962. She mar ried Thad T illotson in 1972. She was widely known and loved for her bubbling person- ality, sense of humor, and her devotion to her son and grandchildren. She moved to Merced, Calif. with Thad while Bradley was still a young child and raised him in the Merced area making many lifelong friends in her church, Christian Life Cen- ter. She mar ried Mar vin Heu- pel in 1996 while living in Merced Calif., and then moved to Santa Maria, Ca- lif., where she helped Mar- vin with his purebred Suf- folk Sheep operation and enjoyed their horses, going to the NPR Bull Rides in Las Vegas, gardening, and living the countr y life. She is sur vived by her son, Bradley T illotson, of San Luis Obispo, Calif.; three grandchildren and their mom, Sophie (Mar- vin) Heupel of Sacramento, Calif., and other Heupel family members; and sever- al cousins. She was preceded by her ex-husband, Thad T illot- son; her beloved mother, Imogene; and twin infant daughters, Marlene and Mechelle. She was born Januar y 23, 1944 to Charles Lloyd "Pete" and Pearl O. (Hunt) Winsted. As a young person she had attended Ayrshire Valley General Baptist Church in Winslow. FR ANKLIN DELANO HALE Franklin Delano Hale en- tered into rest on June 19, 2022, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home after an ex- tended illness. Franklin was bor n on April 25, 1937 to the late Jessie Hale and Calie Miller. He mar ried Hazel Par rish in June 15, 1957. Franklin ser ved in the United States Army from 1954 until he was honorably discharged in 1964. He worked much of his adult life as a crane shovel operator and enjoyed fish- ing, painting and gardening. Franklin was also a mem- ber of the Assembly of God Church in Francisco. Franklin was preceded by his parents, Jessie Hale and Calie Miller; wife; Ha- zel Hale; and brother, John Hale. Franklin leaves behind his five daughters, Judith Sloan (Glenn), Debra Helsley, Ter r y McGregor (Lar r y), Mar y Freyer (Dan), and Su- san Gray; sister Shirley; and brother Joe Hale. Flint, 72, passed away Thursday, June 16, 2022, at her home in Washington. She was born to Donald E. and Ida Frances (Benton) Coleman, on June 7, 1950. She retired as a bus driver from the Pike County and Da- viess County school systems after 31 years of ser vice. She is sur vived by her hus- band of 47 years, Roger E. Flint; daughters, Mindy Nich- olson and Jodi Hinkle; son, David Hunt; brother, Donald Lee Coleman; sister, Cather- ine Darnell Mickey; 15 grand- children; and 12 great-grand- children. She was born December 10, 1918 in Randolph County and was a Petersburg resident for most of her life before moving to Pendleton in 2008. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church, Petersburg. Tony was born on Decem- ber 29, 1958, to Samuel and Hazle (Thorne) Downen. He was a 1977 graduate of South Knox High School and of the Christian Faith. He was a farmer all of his life, loved trucking in his Peterbilt, loved tractor pulling and raising cat- tle, and the many cookouts at home with his family and friends. He was also a mem- ber of the Palymra Township Advisor y Board and the Ea- gles at Bicknell. Tony loved Kylee Ann with all of his heart and since the day she was born she had papaw wrapped around her finger. Papaw taught her how to take care of the land, farming, driving trac- tors, taking care of livestock and many other lessons she will treasure. He is sur vived by his wife, Carolyn (Kidwell) Downen, whom he married on Decem- ber 22, 2000; granddaughter, Kylee Ann Ar vin; his siblings, Vic (Karen) Downen, Mar- tha "Duffer" Downen, of Vin- cennes, Gloria Worland, of Linton, Georgia (Al) Stasulis, of Miss., Sandy Hall, of Ala., John Downen, of N. Y., and Jennifer Daily and her son Carter, of Vincennes; his sis- ter-in-law, Carol Downen, of Wheatland; and several niec- es, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. BR ANDLE, JR John F. Brandle, Jr, 59, of Stendal, passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2022, at his home. He was born in Evansville, Indiana on June 22, 1962, to the late Wanda and John F. Brandle, Sr. He was a United States Army veteran, who worked for 30 years at Crescent Plastics and retained the position of a super visor. A man of ver y strong faith, he enjoyed living in the countr y and spending time with his family. He was a ver y ar tistic man and could often be found outdoors among nature. The family's two dogs, Bruno and Obi were a big par t of his life. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, broth- er and nephew who will be greatly missed. He is sur vived by his wife of 32 years, Nancy (Coleman) Brandle, of Stendal; daugh- ter, Grace Brandle, of Sten- dal; sons, Samuel Brandle and Joshua Brandle, both of Indianapolis; sisters, Doreda (Mike) Birdwell, Lisa Bran- dle, Mar y Brandle and Teresa (Jim) Martin; brother, James Brandle; aunts; uncles; and cousins.
