Way to Go, Drew and Luke we are so proud of you! Dreams do come true! Love, Mom and Dad Freddy Toth! We are proud of you, Love, Mom & Sophie I think that is why we're in this game anyway, is our togetherness and being able to fight. It is a testament to our team," said Allen. Allen said he also had a little extra motiva- tion. He said after Strickland sacked him, he started "chattin' at me. I love him and I'm look- ing forward to playing with him, but I thought, 'man I don't want to have to walk by his state championship medal everyday.'" Gibson Southern started the second half at the 20. They plodded along for three downs, getting a first down. Then Allen threw a bomb nearly 50 yards in the air and Heltsley ran un- der it for a 55 -yard pickup to the Brave 14-yard line. The giant Titan crowd that filled nine sec- tions of Lucas Oil Stadium was in full roar. A five-yard run by Allen and a four-yard pass to Heltsley made it third-and-one at the five. Lukeman was stuffed for no gain. Coach Hart hit the repeat button and Lukeman, on the sec- ond effort, got three and a first down at the two. The next four plays went backward. Luke- man lost a yard, Malone lost two, and on third down, the Titans were hit by a false start, and when they repeated third down, Allen was sacked for an 11-yard loss. They had gone from first-and-goal at the two to fourth-and-goal from the 21. Again Allen did what he does and the Ti- tans executed perfectly. On fourth down, in a have-to-come-through play, Allen hit a wide- open Hurless in the endzone for a 35 -29 lead with 6:52 left in the third quarter. The Titan defense again came through, forc- ing a Brebeuf three-and-out. Gibson Southern took over at the 21-yard line. On third and 10, Allen hit DeLong with a 15 -yard pass. DeLong was crushed by a Brave defender as he was pulling the ball in, but man- aged to hang on for the first down. Allen then completed passes of nine and 24 yards to Hurless, five to Heltsley and six to De- Long for a first down at the Brebeuf 16. Two incompletions later and a false start penalty had the Titans facing third-and-five at the 11. Allen hit Malone, who darted into the endzone and Gibson Southern was rolling with a 42-29 lead at 1:55 left in the third quarter. The Titan runaway train continued. Lukeman intercepted Buckman's pass and ran it back 44 yards to the Brave 14-yard line. DeLong got two yards on first down, but that was followed by two incompletions. Hart sent Spear out and he drilled a 29 -yard field goal. Gibson Southern had outscored Brebeuf 38 - 3 from the 9:13 mark of the first half to the 1:55 mark of the third quarter. Brebeuf mounted another scoring drive. They went 64 yards in seven plays, highlight- ed by a 25 -yard pass from Buckman to Rob Tut- tle for the score, making it 45 -35 with 44 sec- onds left in the third quarter. Gibson Southern started the fourth quarter at their seven. They moved the ball quickly, as Lukeman went 11 yards, and Allen hit Helts- ley for 18 and 27 yards on consecutive plays. Lukeman ran for nine. Gibson Southern took a shot on second-and-one from the 28, but it was intercepted with 10 :31 left at the Brebeuf 25 -yard line. The Braves quickly got a first down, but then Luttrell and Ethan Ziliak stuffed Maiers for a one-yard gain. An incomplete pass made it third-and-nine. Buckman threw a pass down- field, but Foster broke it up and Brebeuf was forced to punt. Gibson Southern went three-and-out, but burned nearly two minutes. Brebeuf was called for holding on first down. It put them in a hole. They went for it on fourth- and-eight and failed. Gibson Southern took over at the Brebeuf 46. A 16 -yard pass to Heltsley gave them a first down. The Titans drove the ball to the Brave 25 -yard line and went for it on fourth-and-five, but failed. Still they burned three minutes off the clock, leaving only 3:10 for Brebeuf. Noah Bryant, who early in the game was be- ing picked on, adjusted and picked off Buck- man's pass for the second time with 1:44 left. Lukeman ran for 11 yards and first down, and Brebeuf was out of timeouts. Allen took a knee and the celebration began.
