The Press-Dispatch Wednesday, November 3, 2021 D-3 I would get to this would be a box for washers and a box for nuts and bolts and the rest would be hunt and search. The only thing I am going to say in this article about our political system is just listen, because there are more and more of us saying the same thing, let's get busy and take care of our country before it gets so far out of shape we have to rebuild it. America is and always will be a great place to live and be from, but it is getting harder to not get angry at the lack of concern about how we treat one an- other. Sunday school concerned Arch angels or arch angel. Many believe Gabriel and Michael were both Arch an- gels while many others think Michael is the only Arch an- gel. It makes little difference which way you think because they do their jobs very well. Usually Michael is the one telling you about an impend- ing danger or hardship com- ing up. He is the angel who brings warnings. Gabriel is what most like to think of as the messenger angel who normally brings good news. Rich brought a very good message about God saving the person, but there is some- times a time of pain which trains us and brings out our appreciation for His inter- vention. The one statement that stuck in my mind was we shouldn't listen for the things we want to hear, but be ready to hear what we need to hear. Sunday afternoon our church had "trail and treat" as we had different stations set up on a trail through the woods by the church. We had a bon fire and roasted wie- ners over the open fire. We had several goblins and su- per heroes go through the woods to gather up some yummy treats. Well let us all do our best to be a blessing this week and if you don't have a church home, we would love to have you worship with us at Cup Creek General Bap- tist Church. If you need di- rections feel free to call me at 812 -354-9597 and if you want to volunteer to help at the park call the same num- ber. We have drugs in our veins and sex on our minds. We have become a selfish peo- ple and accepted the secular humanistic approach to life. Our prayer should be Wake up America and return to God. VIEWPOINT Continued from page 1 system, but the believer in Christ need not be. St. Paul declared by divine inspiration that unbelievers follow "the course of this world," directed by Satan, "the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedi- ence" (Eph. 2:2). We do not mean to im- ply that believers are not of- ten tempted to follow "the course of this world." Indeed the world would sometimes entice or intimidate us, but "this is the victory that over- cometh the world, even our faith." "Let the beloved of the Lord rest secure in him, for he shields him all day long." Knowing our identity as God's children is equally im- portant for everyone—teen- agers, those in the middle of life, and those who have lived a long time. When we under- stand that God created us and watches over us, we can find security, hope and love"— Amy Boucher Pye. How does knowing that you can "rest between his shoul- ders" increase your love for God? How does this deepen your understanding of who you are? "Loving Father, You creat- ed me and You hold me close. Let my identity as Your child permeate my thoughts and ac- tions"—Amen. SR 56 Bowman 812-582-8896 Sunday worship 9 a.m.; Sun- day school 10 :15 a.m. We are exploring the words in Philippians 4:4-9 and how they can help us thrive in chaos. So many trials come into our lives and along with the busi- ness of life. These things can easily choke out the Life of God in us. But praise God, "But seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things will be added unto you" (Matthew 6:33). What things will be add- ed? God's order back into our lives—a peace that passes all un- derstanding—He is in control. Facebook: White River Chap- el UMC, Jeff Pinney. Mechanics Street Otwell Pastor 812-354-3028 Sunday school at 9:30 a.m.; morning worship at 10 :30 a.m.; 6:30 p.m. Sunday eve- ning worship service. I asked God, "Why are you taking me through troubled waters? " He replied, "Because your enemies can't swim." "When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you" (Isaiah 43:2). Isaiah 43:2 is an encourage- ment to every Christian to- day that God will be with you during your trying times and hard seasons. You may think He is not there but He always is, like He says in His Word. Trust in God's presence every day of your life and rest in His comforting arms when you don't know what to do or say.
