Together with Girl Scouts of the United States, Brick- master Amy Corbett, star of the show LEGO Masters USA, is hosting a free virtual event for all girls in fourth and fifth grade. The event, Girl Scouts Build the Change, will seek to encourage young girls to un- leash their creativity and ex- plore engineering for the en- vironment. The session will be led by Brickmaster Amy and LEGO Play Agent Da- vid Pallash. It is open to all girls entering fourth and fifth grade in the fall; participants do not have to be a Girl Scout to join the fun. Girls will be able to com- plete a hands-on activity from Girl Scouts' Think Like An Engineer Journey and be introduced to the LEGO Group's Build the Change online portal. To do so, each girl will need a doll or figu- rine, index cards, 16 wood- en dowels, four plastic bags, scissors, duct tape, string, pa- per, and pencil. If possible, they should also bring water and a fan, to simulate the el- ements, and LEGO bricks, to add some creative flair to their creations. Locally, girls who partici- pate in the event will be en- tered to win one of five LE- GO Build Kit giveaways by submitting a picture of their creation. The event will run for one hour on June 26 from 1:30 CDT. Girls can register on- line via Girl Scouts of South- west Indiana's event link: https://bit.ly/3gAwYo2. We're not afraid to shed some light on the truth. 812-354-8500 SUBSCRIBE TODAY!
