God has given us this com- mand for our own good. God loves us and cares about our relationship with one another. When we talk about our anger and seek out the one we are angry with, God will give us the words to say and greatly bless our efforts. We invite you to worship with us. CHURCH Corner of Center and Sycamore Sunday school 9:30 a.m.; morning worship 10 :30 a.m.; Wednesday Bible study 6:30 p.m. Remember those on our prayer list, the shut-ins and our lost loved ones. We should all focus on cen- tering our lives in what is im- portant. In John 4:13-14, Jesus said, "Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinketh of the wa- ter that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up in- to everlasting life." Water is even more essen- tial than bread. You can go several weeks without food, but you cannot go more than three days without water. Ev- ery cell in your body needs wa- ter to survive. We need Jesus to survive. Later on in John 4, he used three keys words: come, believe, drink. I pray you will humbly come before God, believe Jesus loves and gave His life for you, and drink His Word and follow Him— Taken from a column by Jon Hauser. "Thus saith the Lord, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk there- in, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, we will not walk therein" ( Jeremi- ah 6:16). Mission Statement New Beginnings: What would Jesus do? We will strive to be more like Jesus in all that we do. Your pres- ence will be appreciated and I'm sure you will feel the bless- ing of God. "Those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles" (Isa- iah 40 :31). Nowhere does the Bible teach that Christians are ex- empt from trials and tribula- tion and natural disasters. We live in a world infected with the disease of sin, and we share in its misery and pain. But the Bi- ble does teach that we can face trials with a power others do not have.....the power of God. As we trust Him, God helps us endure, and even discern His purpose in he midst of suffer- ing. The eagle has the unique ability to lock its joints and soar effortlessly on an updraft, instead of flapping its wings. As we wait on God, He helps us use the wings of adversity to soar above our problems. As the Bible says, "Those who wait on the Lord shall mount up with wings like eagles." May God bless each and ev- eryone. Jerry "Tuffy" Blackwell, Pastor Sharon Kendall, Reporter WINSLOW G.B. CHURCH 600 E. VBS: July 5 -July 9, here at the church. The hours will probably be from about 9 a.m.- noon. We will let you know for sure later. Thought for the week: "For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-disci- pline" (II Timothy 1:7). Be in prayer for the lost, the sick, our church, our country and leaders, and always each other. Gods blessings on you this week. It isn't fashionable today to talk about Hell—but the Bible is clear: God created us with a soul or a spirit that will live forever—and when we die, we will continue to exist—ei- ther in the place the Bible calls Heaven or in the place the Bi- ble calls Hell. Hell, the Bible says, is re- served for those who reject God and turn their back on Him. If you want nothing to do with Him in this life, then you will want nothing to do with Him in the next life. And let me be as clear as possible, you don't want to go to Hell. Hell is a place of abso- lute loneliness and hopeless- ness. "In Hell, where he was in torment, he looked up... and called to him, 'Father Abraham, have pity on me... because I am in agony in this fire'" (Luke 16:23,24). By pas- tor Billy Graham.
