The North Posey La- dy Vikings now have 17 wins and three early losses to just Tecumseh, Henderson and Sullivan, giving them a 9 -1 PAC record. North Posey's Lauren Kihn and Addison Fullop doubled and scored RBIs in the 3-0 win. Softball Alumni/Youth Night Pike Central Softball head coach Stephanie Dawson has put together an Alumni/Youth Night to honor all former PC softball players and Pike County youth softball play- ers. Anyone who has ever worn a Charger softball uniform is invited to come to the Pike Central field this Thursday, May 20 to watch the final regular season game against the Dubois Lady Jeeps beginning at 5:30 p.m. Your admission will be free. This also applies to all Pike County youth soft- ball players. All youth softball players who attend will re- ceive free admission and get to stand with the high school girls during the playing of the National Anthem. Come check these out. Sectional is at Washington next week and these girls are hungry. More people, more sup- port, more cheering equals more adrenaline for these girls. Come check them out Thursday night at home, and give them the support they deserve because they are deter- mined to add some "new paint" to the softball barn wall. Chargers knock off Lady Rangers 8-1 Bailey homers in fourth A fourth-inning, two-run homer off the bat of junior La- dy Charger Hallie Bailey set the stage for a 8 -1 thumping of the home standing Forest Park Lady Rangers this past Thursday evening. Chloe Wil- liams went the distance, al- lowing five hits, zero earned runs, 11 strikeouts and just one walk. The Lady Rangers relieved junior Ali Welp after four in- nings, accounting for sev- en Lady Charger hits, three earned runs, zero strikeouts, one home run and one walk. Lady Ranger Avery Riley stepped in and finished with five hits, four earned runs and one walk. Lady Charger totals were 12 hits, one home run by Bailey, a triple by Lexie Onyett and double by Mallory Hickey. The girls accounted for seven earned runs, two walks and no strikeouts in their fifth Pock- et Athletic Conference win of the season. Bailey finished with three RBIs, Onyett two, and Alynna Sharp and Del- aney Welch one each. Sharp, Zia Stafford, Macey Stilwell and Welch all stole one base apiece. Karley Kavanaugh and Onyett earned first base passes, Sharp scored twice, and Kavanaugh, Stilwell, On- yett, Welch, Bailey and Sta- ford crossed once. The Chargers amassed runs in marathon style in the third, fourth, fifth and sixth to counter the Lady Ranger lone run in the bottom of the third. Xia Stafford, Mallory Hickey and Kenzie Powell had photo displays at the back of the Charger dugout. Mallory, Kenzie and Xia pose for pictures in their last year as teammates at Pike Central. Seniors Mallory Kickey, Kenzie Powell and Xia Stafford were honored on senior night on the field with their parents. Lady Charger Junior Varsity softball pitching looked a lot like hard ball during action on the mound last week. Junior Lady Charger Hallie Bailey is set to put the ball in play on the home diamond. Senior Kenzie Powell gets the bat on the ball during action at the plate last week. Throws to first from deep short stop were routine during Lady Charger JV action.
