Scott Mills poured in 33 points and 15 rebounds for the Red Angels. Game five was a 70 -51 win for the Av- erage Joes over Longshots. Toopes made 32 points and had 10 rebounds for the Aver- age Joes, and Nick Query led the Longshots with 12 points and six rebounds. Team Won bettered Trop- ics 78 -66, with Nathan Tid- well making 22 points and eight rebounds. The Tropics were led by Chase Bland with 31 points and six rebounds. Busch Bods lost to the Trop- ics 64-30, with Ricky Al- vey leading Tropics with 23 points and 11 rebounds. Ha- gan Patton had nine points and four rebounds for the Busch Bods. RuNNinRage beat the Busch Bods 79 -54, with Phillips Brown contributing 36 points and five rebounds for RuNNinRage. Hagan Pat- ton had 17 points and four re- bounds for the Busch Bods. The Benchwarmers beat the Hypnotoads 64-49. T.J. Re- Lady Chargers track nipped by Washington Teague and Vinnedge win two The Washington Lady Hatchets managed a 70 -52 PAC win last Monday, despite wins by Quinlan Teague, Eri- ka Vinnedge, Lauren Young and Ruby Sallee. The Lady Hatchets garnered all the points for the three relays in capturing the team win. Teague took first in the 3200 (13:27) and the 1600 (6:00.35), and was second in the 800 run (2:53.50), with Kennedy Willis third (3:04.37). Willis also fin- ished second in the 1600 (6:32.50). Vinnedge won the discus (96'9.5") and the shot put (29'5.5"), with Kayla Gladish second (24'2") in the shot and third in the discus (63'5.5), while Young placed second in the long jump (14'). Young won the 300 hurdles (54.63) and was second in the 100 hurdles (18.09). Mor- gan Anderson finished sec- ond in the 300 (1:03.75) and was third in the 100 meter run (14.). Ruby Sallee gar- nered first place points in the pole vault, clearing 6'6". Patriots score 5-0 win on home court A road trip to Heritage Hills on Thursday evening was a 5 -0 loss for the Lady Chargers, who faced a team comprised of four Lady Patri- ot seniors and three juniors. Zoey Davis was defeated by Kennedy Tate 6 -1, 6 -1 in num- ber one doubles and Ella Mc- Guire fell to Liz Gehlhausen 6 -1, 6 -1 at the number two singles spot. Gabby Collins had a 6 -0, 6 -2 loss to senior Lady Car- dinal Emily Patmore on the number three singles court. Shelby Keeker and Alaina Johnson were bettered by Cardinal seniors Avery Neff and Liz Mehling 6 -1, 6 -2, and Reagan Craig and Ella Ad- ams lost 6 -2, 6 -0 to Cardinal seniors Braili Schipp and Ki- ersten Gogel at number two doubles. Lady Charger Jaime Sallee won a singles match over junior Kyra Campbell 4-0 and Arvilla Hall 6 -3, and lost to Grace Keller 6 -3. Lady Chargers fall to Gibson A Lady Charger Thurs- day night road trip to Gib- son Southern kicked off ear- ly due to threatening weath- er, according to Pike Central head coach Brent Beck. He said they would try to start, depending on the weather, and it turned out the rain held off, but the wind was enough to send everything flying. "Today was about as breezy as it gets without any rain coming down." The wind was one thing, and the past conference and sectional champs were an- other, as a new Lady Char- ger lineup fared no worse than the last half dozen ten- nis teams the Gibson South- ern Lady Titans have faced. Zoey Davis fell at number one singles to Gracia Jones 6 -0, 6 -1, while Lady Titan Sydney Purcell scored a 6 -2, 6 -0 win over Ella McGuire. In junior varsity action, Jaime Sallee was on the court for two sin- gles matches, falling to Lady Titan Jayden Sorgius 6 -3 and then to Maura Kluesner 6 -3. Lady Charger Zoey Davis stepped in at number one sin- gles from number one dou- bles, Ella McGuire was the number two singles contend- er and Gabby Collins moved up to number three singles from junior varsity action. Shelby Keeker and Alaina Johnson moved to num- ber one doubles, and Rea- gan Craig and Ella Adams teamed for the number two doubles spot. Lady Titans run rule Lady Chargers By James Capozella With bases loaded and just one out, Lady Titan first baseman Carson Kruse caught a line drive and stepped on the bag to end the Lady Charger threat and the game at 12-1 after five innings. A pair of Gibson Southern Lady Titan sluggers did what they do best last Saturday, each knocking in homeruns that pretty much decided the 12-1 outcome. Olivia Money hit her second grand slam of the season and Brenna Blume captured the Gibson Southern all-time career homerun record with number 21. Lady Charger Chloe Williams went two and a third innings, allowing eight hits and three earned runs, while striking out three and walking six. Kenzie Pow- ell stepped in for the one and two thirds innings remaining, with one strikeout, no runs and no walks, but the Lady Charger offense went quiet until one run scored in the fifth prior to the unassisted double play at first that ended the chance for a Lady Charger comeback. Pike Central was scoreless in their first two ups, but then suffered a nine-run sec- ond inning Lady Titan blitz that only went away after three more runs crossed in the Jaime Salle was on the court for two junior varsi- ty matches with Gibson Southern. PCMS host Rebels and Trojans Four new Pike Central Mid- dle School records were estab- lished Monday night when Grant Boyd cleared the bar 10 times, the final being a re- cord height of 9', surpassing his earlier record of 8'7" set during the Washington meet. The second new school record was by Xavery Weisman, who broke her previous height of 7'3", set last week, by clear- ing the bar on the second at- tempt at 7'4". Weisman ran a 5:32.84 to first place in the 1600 me- ter run, bettering her record 5:37.19 time set last week. The 800 meter run was no differ- ent, with Weisman clocking first in 2:32.50, which broke her existing record from last week of 2:38.53. The boys had three oth- er firsts and the girls had two. South Spencer won the boys' meet with 82, followed by Pike Central with 44 and Wood Memorial 4. The girls were nipped by South Spencer 54 to 42, with Wood Memorial third with 34 points. In the girls' meet, Sadie Wil- lis took first in the 400, with Jaelee Loveless third. Knepp was second in the 100 hurdles, with Kenadie Houchins fifth. Kylie Meyer was second in the 1600 and Jessa Ridao third. Loveless was second in the high jump, and Boyd was third in the 100 dash, with Katelyn Neal sixth. Kaliea Hartke was third in the discus and Avery Vest fifth. Houchins added a fourth in the 300 hurdles and Willis was fourth in the 200 dash. Awstyn Luff won the 400 and Collins took third. Kole Besing was second in the long Lady Charger Chloe Williams went two and a third innings on the mound. Brailey Mills gets set for a pitch during the road trip to Gibson South- ern. Grant Boyd broke his own middle school record in the pole vault with a height of 9 feet.
