PRINCETON Netters nipped by Washington A pair of three-set match- es decided the team outcome on the home courts last Fri- day night for the Lady Char- ger tennis team. Number one and two singles scored two- set wins, and number three singles and number one dou- bles fell in close three-set battles with the Washington Catholic Lady Cardinals. Lady Charger Zoey Davis decisioned Jenny Lopez 7-5, 6 -2 in the number one singles pairing and Ell McGuire bet- tered Lady Cardinal senior Mario Jose-Vicente 6 -3, 6 -2. Lady Charger Gabby Collins lost to senior Chloe Garland 6 - 2, 6 -3, 6 -3 at the number three singles posting. In number one doubles com- petition, Lady Chargers Shel- by Keeker and Alaina John- son fell to seniors Margarita Bassler and Claire Cline 3-6, 4-6, 6 -3. Reagan Craig and El- la Adams were bettered by La- dy Cardinals Molly Brown and Mya Cline 7-6, 6 -2 on the num- ber two doubles court. In ju- nior varsity action, Jaime Sal- le won two singles matches, scoring 4-1 and 4-0. Williams goes six innings in 15-5 win Lady Charger pitching limited Vincennes Lincoln to three earned runs, but bats were the big story for Pike Central. Lexie Onyett, Ken- zie Powell and company col- lected 16 hits and 14 RBIs in a run-ruled, 15 -5, six-inning rout at Vincennes. Onyett and Powell each had doubles and three hit totals. Alyna Sharp homered and drove in three runs, and scored twice. Brai- ley Mills had the only triple, scoring one run and an RBI. Xia Stafford, Karley Kavana- ugh and Sharp all punched doubles, as the team scored in all six innings. Madalyn Fiscus, Sharp, Onyett, Pow- ell and Stafford all had mul- tiple hits for the Lady Char- gers. Powell, Onyett and Sharp each had three RBIs, and Stafford and Kavanaugh drove in two apiece. Sharp's homerun in the fifth put the team up 14-5, and then a run in the top of the sixth sealed the run-rule win. Avery Hunt scored three runs, with one hit and a walk, and Mallory Hickey had one hit and an RBI in the 15 -5 win. Mills stole two bases, and Powell and Stafford one each. Williams struck out nine, al- lowed three earned runs and walked one, with one homer- un in six innings. The Lady Charger fielding committed two errors on the night, but at the plate, the team drew five walks and only had one strikeout. Lincoln's Koenig al- lowed 10 earned runs, 16 hits, Sharp's key homerun and five walks. Justus Eddrington threw the shot and also the dis- cus, placing second against Wood and South Spencer. Top girls' discus competitors for Pike Central were Kailee Hart- ke and Avery Vest, third and fifth respectively. In the Washington meet, Kenadie Houchins was second, Alexis Boyd third, Hartke fourth and Vest fifth. Ethan Mann cleared 5'1" for second in the high jump.
