Cody Davis, at 220, scored a fourth place finish for the Chargers. He received a first round forfeit. In the second round, he beat Eric Vane- gas, of Southridge, 4-2. Davis trailed 2-0 going into second period and 2-1 going into the third quarter. He managed an escape and takedown to win. He lost his semi-final match to Jackson Bell, of Boonville. Then in the third place con- solation match, he was pined by South Spencer's Brandon Romero. Cannon, at 145 pounds, got a forfeit in the first round. He then beat Forest Park's Kaleb Perohn by a 16 -1 technical fall. In the semi-final, he ran in- to Mt. Vernon's Chris New- man, with a 21-3 record, and was pinned. Then in the third place match, he was beaten by Car- son Niehaus, of Southridge, by pin. Skylar Shelton and Jackson Stuckey both had fifth place finishes for Pike Central. Shelton won a major deci- sion against Heritage Hills' Joey Hedges 12-3 in the first round. In the second round, he fell to James Vaugh, of South Spencer. In his first consolation round, he pinned Owen Edwards, of Washing- ton, in 2:15. In the consolation semi-fi- nals, he won a major decision over Hunter Evans, of Boon- ville, 11-2. Then in the fifth place match, he beat T. J. Lewis 7-4. Stuckey, at 152 pounds, got a first round bye. Then in the second round, he lost to Southridge's Anthony Laugh- lin, a hard fought 2-1 decision. Stuckey got an escape with 13 seconds left in the match, but couldn't manage a takedown as time expired. Stuckey got forfeits in the two consolation rounds. He then pinned Princeton's Jacob Keehn in 2:24 in the fourth place match. Other wrestlers placing in the top eight for the Chargers were Ryan Gladish, at 126 pounds, placing seventh and Isaac Shimer, at 170 pounds, placing eighth. Senior 220-pounder Cody Davis arches to get away from his opponent. Davis had a come-from-behind win against Eric Vanegas, of Southridge, in the sec- ond round. He went on to place fourth for the Char- gers. Charger 192-pounder Corey Goeppner pulls his op- ponent back just before pinning him in the second round. Goeppner advanced to the finals and placed second in the 12-team PAC meet on Saturday. Jackson Stuckey has his Southridge opponent in a front head lock during their second round match at the Pocket Athletic Conference meet on Saturday. Stuckey lost this match, but came back to finish fifth. Isaac Shimer fights to get back to his base during a second round match in the PAC meet.
