We also have to consider if our exemp- tion or liberty is seen as a lack of concern by others. We don't know how long this outbreak will last, but with Christmas gatherings, there could be another spike by the first of the year. So many trials come into our lives and along with the busi- ness of life. These things can easily choke out the Life of God in us. But praise God, "But seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things will be added un- to you" (Matthew 6:33). What things will be add- ed? Sunday morning service 10 :15 a.m.; Sunday school at 11 a.m.; Thursday night ser- vices at 7 p.m. Every other Tuesday night at 6 p.m., prayer. Next prayer night will be December 29. How great is our God. He sent His Son Jesus to take upon Himself the sin of the world. He first appeared as a baby in a manager. Worked with His father. Stepped in- to ministry to the lost, lame, deaf, dumb, blind, and all that He encountered bound He set them free. From this He made His journey to Golgotha's hill to show heaven's love for hu- manity. What a love, what a price, yet many turn Him away. Prayer is that many be- gin to seek Him in this season. He is just a breath away. Keep those that are in nursing homes, hospitals and rehab centers, and fam- ily, friends and neighbors in your prayers. Also pray for our country, president and for peace to reign over turmoil. May your week be blessed and you find comfort in God's Word. OAKLAND CITY FIRST PENTECOST Hwy. 64 East Sunday morning service 9:30 a.m. with children's Sun- day school during the minis- try of the Word; Wednesday and Sunday evening services at 6 p.m. All services are CST (Gibson Co. times). We apologize for any incon- venience from our cancelling last Wednesday and Sunday's services. We felt it prudent to be cautious. In II Peter 3:3,4: The apos- tle warns that in the last days there will be scoffers saying, "where is His coming? " I don't know and even Christ said He didn't know the time, only the Father. But He is coming. To reject the truth, gives you no defense against the lies and the enemy is more than hap- py to oblige. We will be open this Wednesday night for service. We do ask that precautions be taken to protect one another. Ron Vickers, Pastor Elaine Young, Reporter, 812-749 -1122 (leave a mes- sage). Love you, talk to you next week. Have a blessed week. When shopping for gifts be- came too difficult, an elder- ly man decided to just send checks to relatives. In his Christmas cards, mailed ear- ly, he wrote, "Buy your own present! " A fter the holiday, the man noticed he'd received few cards in return. Puzzled, he went into his study, intending to write to a few relatives and ask what had happened. As he cleared his cluttered desk, the horrified man found the an- swer. Under a stack of papers were the checks he'd forgot- ten to enclose with his cards! The lesson? Don't be in such a hurry to give gifts that you inadvertently leave out what's most important. With- out the message of Jesus and his birth, the earthly trap- pings of Christmas are emp- ty indeed.
