The Press-Dispatch Wednesday, November 4, 2020 B-5 VIEWPOINT Continued from page 3 RAMBLINGS Continued from page 3 Continued in next column Methodist Methodist Continued in next column Church Note Deadline 5 P.M. FRIDAY Lutheran Independent good families under stress and threatens their stability. God's loving purpose for peo- ple and families has become distorted. Always remember that God is at work in the difficult struggles Christians face in a world that is becoming more hostile to Christianity. Many families live with stress and fear because of the unex- pected changes in our world. Good and evil have been present since the beginning of time but it is more evident in our government, educa- tion, entertainment and the changing religious beliefs. As never before pastors must share the teaching of God's Word to give hope and pur- pose to those struggling with the evils of 2020. working with the displays are getting older. While talking about our beautiful park I would like to say, it is one of the most beau- tiful parks in southern Indi- ana. You really should take a drive through it just to look at the gorgeous colorful trees before all their leaves fall to the ground. This would be an excellent safe way to get out because unless you already have the virus there would be little risk to your health with a drive through the park. This is coming from me and not the officials who preach to you about the vi- rus, it is real and it will make you sick if you come down with it. Best advice is to stay home as much as possible. When you do have to go out stay out of crowds, wear your mask, stay at least six feet from one another and use an alcohol based sanitizer often. With Daylight Savings Time we will have less and less daylight so get outside as often as you can. Sunlight not only helps you physically it can help deter winter time depression. Winter depres- sion coupled with the COVID is going to truly be terrible if we don't focus on fighting it. I know in my own life the pre- cautions we have to maintain to keep from getting sick can get to you. Your personal doc- tor can advise you about vita- min supplements which can assist you in your fight with winter's maladies. My prayers are always there for people who are missing their church ser- vices and I too miss being with my friends but at this time we need to rely on the common sense God has in- stilled in us. I will keep say- ing this until we get it right, we can worship God without being in a building, although it does make life more enjoy- able to worship with your friends. What must we do then, pray for one another, call your friends to encourage one another and if you have to be out an about be a bless- ing to all. Talk to you next week. Do you realize that the peace that is in your life would be gone without Jesus, that the home with family might not be ex- istent now? There is so much to be thankful for as a child of God, but yet many forget to thank Him for the life they have. Today would be a good time to give thanks while you have the breath. Bringing fear into their lives, telling them they would be their servants. But David, a lad at the time, rose up against him. In the name of the God of Israel and basically told him to shut up. Of course, the story goes on to say he slew the giant. America is being taunted by a giant, a virus, it is telling us we are its servant. Let's make November the month of redemption. When we're strong in the Lord and in the power of His might, then no power can stand against us because no power can stand against Him.
