With the combined mechanics of rotation and extension working on the spine together, each golfer puts themselves at risk for spinal injury. Any weakness in the spine or pre-existing damage that has remained unnoticed can become affected as the spine ages and is then put through a rigorous round of golf. Stiffness, early fatigue and sharp jolts, are some of the signs of spinal injury. It is much easier to treat a golfer who has a minor injury than to wait and try to treat them once it has become severe. Ignoring it and hoping it will go away is never a good idea. Having it treated correctly by a Chiropractor should be in order. There is a high utilization rate of Chiropractic by tour professionals in the PGA.
