"It has a lot of potential," said Jeff Powers, pastor of Freedom and Fire. He and his wife, Tammy, said they had been looking at the building since they have been in Winslow. They said they are still developing how they will use it. Both are involved in The Gathering Place ministry in Winslow. They are looking to expand those ministries, rather than duplicate them. The Powerses said some of the ideas they have looked at is possibly a homeless shelter or just a place for people who need a place for a few days to get back on their feet. The building in the past has been Brown's Grocery Store, Dr. Arnold's Den- tistry Building and Dips Ice Cream Parlor, prior to being Outfitter's Station, which was owned by Buch- ta's sister. The second floor had been apartments. "There is a lot of hurt in Winslow," said Tammy. She said they are praying about how to meet the needs of Winslow and praying for God to heal those hurts. "This has to be a 'God thing,' because we can't do it on our own," said Tammy. Jeff said about two weeks ago, he got a phone call from Eddie Joe Boyd telling him Buchta was considering do- nating the building to a min- istry in Winslow. "We are waiting on God for leading," said Jeff. "Now it will be a sanc- tuary for people who need help," said Buchta.
