Noah Russell was the Chargers' top performer. He finished seventh in 19:55.39. Pike Central's Sam Thiev- ing was 39th in 23:39.48 and Lane Potts was 55th in 28:14.37. Gibson Southern won the girls' junior varsity run with 24 points. Evansville Memo- rial (31) was the only oth- er team to record a score. South Knox's Cora Anson won the race in 24:15.66. Shelby Vaughn had the Chargers' fastest time. She was third in 25:56.77. Lexie Neese was sixth in 27:02.97 and Morgan Sallee was 21st in 31:35.26. Pike Central also compet- ed in the Barr-Reeve Invite on Tuesday, Sept. 24. Jasper won the boys' competition with 28 points. They were followed by South Knox (90), Vincennes Lin- coln (11), Barr-Reeve (131), Bedford North Lawrence (142), Eastern Greene (176), Bloomfield (191), Washing- ton (222), Northeast Dubois (245), Southridge (257), Orleans (287), Evansville Harrison (309), Pike Cen- tral (309), Mitchell (330), North Daviess (399), North Daviess (399), North Knox (461) and Loogootee (464). Washington Catholic and Shoals competed, but did not record a team score. Jasper's Abe Eckman won the race in 16:21. Woolery was Pike Cen- tral's fastest runner. He fin- ished 30th in 17:52, Chanley was 45th in 18:18, Trent Zim- merman was 71st in 19:24, Gorby was 73rd in 19:25, Hill was 90th in 20 :07 and Reutepohler was 93rd in 20 :29. South Knox won the girls' division with 50 points. They were followed by Jas- per (75), Barr-Reeve (83), Northeast Dubois (91), Pike Central (153), Southridge (206), North Daviess (212), Bedford North Lawrence (228), Orleans (252), North Knox (260), Mitchell (288), Bloomfield (289), Eastern Greene (291), Evansville Harrison (305) and Vin- cennes Lincoln (384). Wash- ington and Loogootee also competed, but did not record a team score. Jasper's Andi VanMeter won the race in 18:55. Stone was the Chargers' top finisher. She was 21st in 21:29 and was followed by teammates Teague at 26th in 21:57, Johnson at 31st in 22:19, Meyer at 32nd in 22:24, Morgan Anderson at 43rd in 23:15, Neese at 74th in 25:50 and Sallee at 82nd at 26:24. Pike Central will be on the road at North Posey on Sat- urday, Oct. 5 for the Pocket Athletic Conference Meet.
