Cards may be sent to: 905 Ohaver Street, Boonville, IN 47601. Two Petersburg men injured in Monday crash Two Petersburg men were injured early Monday morn- ing in a crash on Highway 356. Phil Claridge, 55, of 701 N. SR 57, Petersburg, was driving to work at about 4:45 a.m. on Highway 356, when Derek Field pulled out of his driveway and Claridge hit Field in the rear passenger door and rear quarter. Pike County Deputy Sheriff Jar- ed Simmons said Field com- plained of hip pain and Clar- idge complained of neck and back pain. Both were trans- ported to the hospital by Pike County EMS. Deputy Simmons said both vehicles were a total loss. A rural Winslow man suf- fered minor injuries Friday morning when he swerved to miss a deer. Jeremy Helsley, 49, of 4550 S. CR 300 E., Win- slow, was driving west on Highway 64, near the Pike- Gibson County line, when a deer ran in front of him. Pike County Deputy Sher- iff Brad Jenkins said Hels- ley swerved to miss the deer and hit the guardrail, then bounced off that guard- rail across the highway in- to the other guardrail, spin- ning, then overturned on a bridge, just east of the rail- road tracks. It happened at about 7 a.m. United Way of Pike County funding applications being accepted through Oct. 30 United Way of Pike Coun- ty is now accepting applica- tions for funding. To apply, an organization or agency has to have a 501(c)(3) tax exempt status, serve Pike County and provide health and human services. Pike Central Swing Choir performs The Pike Central Swing Choir performed Saturday during the Buffalo Trace Festival. Several students had solo performances. The choir is led by Melissa Traylor.
