He enlisted in the Navy in July 1989 and reported to Recruit Training Command in Orlando, Fla. He then at- tended Nuclear Field "A" School and Naval Nuclear Power School in Or- lando. He then attended Naval Nu- clear Prototype Training in Charles- ton, S.C. In April 1992, Warrant Officer Os- gatharp reported aboard USS HOL - L AND (AS 32) in Charleston, S.C., and changed home port with the ship to Agana, Guam. In July 1995, He reported aboard USS John F. Kennedy (CV 67) in Philadel- phia, Penn., as the Hydraulic Shop Work Center Supervisor. He changed home port with the ship to Mayport, Fla. Following Defense Joint Oil Analy- sis Program "C" School in June 1997, he reported to Shore Intermediate Maintenance Activity (SIMA) in May- port as a Joint Oil Analysis Laborato- ry Technician. In October 2000, he transferred to Gaeta, Italy, serving aboard USS La Salle (AGF 3) as MP3 Division Lead- ing Chief Petty Officer. While aboard La Salle, he qualified as Engineering Officer of the Watch (STEAM). In December 2003, he reported to Commander Navy Personnel Com- mand Millington, Tenn. as an Enlist- ed Rating Assignment Specialist. Following attending the Senior Pro- pulsion Engineering Course in Janu- ary 2007, he reported to USS Essex (LHD 2) in Sasebo, Japan, as MP Divi- sion LCPO. He qualified as Engineer- ing Officer of the Watch (STEAM). A fter receiving his commission in April 2010, he attended LDO/CWO Indoctrination Training and Dam- age Control Assistant/Senior Enlist- ed Course prior to reporting to USS Abraham Lincoln (Cvn 72) in Ever- ett, Wash., as the Ship's Fire Marshal earning Surface Warfare Officer and Officer of the Deck (Underway). In June 2012, he reported to USS John C. Stennis (Cvn 74) as the Weap- ons Engineer. During his tour, he qualified as Officer of the Deck (Un- derway). Following attending FFG Prospec- tive Engineering Officer course in Oc- tober 2014, he reported to USS Simp- son (Ffg 56) in Mayport, Fla., as the Main Propulsion Assistant and Chief Engineer. During his tour, he qual- ified as Engineering Officer of the Watch (Gas Turbine), and Tactical Action Officer. In October 2015, he reported to Sur- face Warfare Officer School Engineer- ing Learning Site in Mayport as the Officer in Charge. In February 2017, he returned to USS Essex (Lhd 2) now in San Diego, Calif., and qualified Engineering Offi- cer of the Watch (STEAM). Warrant Officer Osgatharp's per- sonal awards include the Navy Com- mendation Medal (with four gold stars), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (with two gold stars), and various unit, campaign and service awards. He is married to the former Debby Clark, of St. James, Mo. They have three children, 25 -year- old daughter, Karenna, and 15 -year- old twin daughters, Kellie and Mel- ody. Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia Caregiver Sup- port Group – Dementia is a brain disorder that seriously affects a person's ability to carry out daily activities. Al- zheimer's disease is the most common form of dementia among senior citizens. It involves the parts of the brain that control thought, memory and language. Memorial's Caring Hands Senior Services sponsors an Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia Caregiver Support Group on the first Wednesday of each month. The next meeting is Wednesday, August 7, 2019, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in Board Conference Room A, which is located on the lower level of Memorial Hospital near the Tower Ca- fé at 800 West 9th Street in Jasper. This support group allows caregivers to come together to share knowledge and experiences in caring for loved ones who are affect- ed by these illnesses.
