MAY • A Vincennes man was arrested when a passenger in a traffic stop told police he couldn't tell them his name because of a murder and that he was an under- cover agent for police in Vin- cennes. A search of the car found a bag containing what tested positive for meth un- der the front seat. State Trooper Chase Ea- ton said he saw Patrick Walker, 30, who was in the backseat, put something un- der the seat in front of him. Walker was arrested on preliminary charges of pos- session of meth, conspiracy to deal meth, maintaining a common nuisance, posses- sion of marijuana, posses- sion of paraphernalia and false informing. • Whitney Pit, located on CR 175 E., between Ayr- shire Road and Number Sev- en Road, was filled in. It was a $1.2 million project funded by the Department of Natu- ral Resources, despite pro- tests by area sportsmen. The DNR claimed the high wall at the pit was dangerous and contributed to acid run- off in the area. Eric- ka Vinnedge won the girls' discus competition in the middle school PAC with a throw of 83'6.5". • Jacob Bohnert signed a letter of intent to swim at Io- wa Lakes Community col- lege. • Jennifer A.
