The Press-Dispatch Church Wednesday, December 26, 2018 C- 3 MINUTES Continued from page 1 Continued in next column Continued from page 2 Continued on page 4 Pentecostal Presbyterian Lutheran Wesleyan Methodist in this…Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself…" (Rom. 13:9,10). So after telling the Galatians that we are not under the law but under grace, Paul told them, "by love serve one another" (Gal. 5:13). Un- der grace, we don't kill or steal from one another be- cause we love one another! But what would happen in the kingdom of Chicago if the mayor announced that he was suspending all laws, and from now on everyone should just love one anoth- er? It wouldn't take long for people to realize that love works well when it comes to governing a body, but a kingdom needs laws! But despite these dispen- sational differences, Christ is still the king of the over- all kingdom of which we are a part. Someday He will "sit upon the throne of His glory" in the kingdom of heaven on earth (Mt. 25:31). In the meantime, does He sit on the throne of your heart? Why not choose to give "the King" the "honour and glory" He deserves (I Tim. 1:17) by choosing to obey Him. Independent GLEZEN REVIVAL CENTER 245 S. Thereby learning from what has been, we may have some sort of expectation of what is to come. Old Testament prophe- cy explains clearly what is coming and what to expect, and New Testament scrip- ture confirms it absolutely. God showed me that the secret place of the Most High is like a womb. This place provides everything we need; Protection, nutri- ents, and love. • PROTECTION—We are safe, warm, and protect- ed because we are 'in' Him. • NUTRIENTS —His Word feeds us. It supplies us with everything we need to grow and be strong in Him. • LOVE—We are 'in' Him and He is 'in' us. It is from this position that we should live and move and have our being. This is the question the wise men asked upon their arrival in Jerusalem. They were aware that their long journey was nearing an end and they felt certain that ev- eryone around would be cele- brating this royal birth. Sad- ly, not even the ruler of the land could tell them where He was. There are times during the Christmas season that I, too, look around and ask the question, "Where is he that is born King of the Jews? " A fter all, He is the reason for the season. I find snowmen, elves, and San- ta Claus. I find celebrations and parties galore. But how many will never even dark- en a church door this Christ- mas season? They will cele- brate just to be celebrat- ing because Jesus is not a part of their lives. Where is he that is born King of the Jews? He's standing outside your heart's door, patiently waiting an entrance to gain. Won't you invite Him in and experience the wonders of His love this Christmas? Scripture reading: James 1:19 -20. Theme Statement: Facing trials and getting through them successfully produc- es spiritual fruit in our lives. James give some wise advise for all of us to apply to our in- dividual situations. Indeed, for this coming new year the message today shows us how to do exactly that. She notice every- one looking towards her, so she turned around to see what everyone was looking at, and when she did, she saw a stewardess pushing a wheelchair, with an old man sitting in it. She said he had this long white hair that was all tangled and such a mess. His face was really wrinkled, and he didn't look friendly at all. She said she didn't know why, but she felt drawn to the man, and thought at first that God wanted her to witness to him. In her mind she said she was thinking, "Oh, God, please, not now, not here." No matter what she did, she couldn't get the man off of her mind, and all of a sudden she knew what God wanted her to do. She was supposed to brush this old man's hair. She went and knelt down in front of the old man, and said "Sir, may I have the honor of brushing your hair for you? " Everyone was watching to see what his response would be. The old man just looked at her confused, and said "Well, I guess if you really want to." She said, "I don't even have a brush, but I thought I would ask anyway." He said, "Look in the bag hanging on the back of my chair, there is a brush in there." So she got the brush out and start- ed brushing his hair. She has a little girl with long hair, so she has had lots of practice getting tangles out, and knew how to be gentle with him. She worked for a long time, until every last
