"So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become ma- ture, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ" (Ephesians 4:11-13, NIV ). Jeff Pinney, Pastor said: "Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God." The prayer life of Han- nah is an example to every generation. There are three keys to Hannah's voice. 1. Her purity of life. 2. Her prayers for life. 3. Her preparing for the af- ter-life. Leon Pomeroy, Pastor ers, we pledge ourselves to al- low the Holy Spirit to develop within us maturity of spirit, unity of faith, and knowledge of the Son of God, so that we may be prepared to share His love, mercy and grace through our words and ac- tions, to a needy world. Sunday morning worship service at 10 :15 a.m.; Sunday school at 11 a.m. We are in the season where gift buying has taken first place in so many lives, It is nice to buy gifts and see smiles on faces of our chil- dren, grandchildren and oth- ers, but the best smile to see is when one gives their live to Jesus and bondages are broken, set free from addic- tion, marriages put back to- gether. Love, trust, and hope brought back into lives. Let us put Jesus first and all these other things shall be added unto us. Keep hurting, helpless, and hopeless people in your prayers. Pray for the sick, hospitalized ones, nursing home residents, loved ones that do not know Jesus and your neighbors. Have a blessed week and see you in church Sunday. Luke 17:21, tells us the kingdom of God is within us....Rev. 3:20, says, "if any- one knocks, I will come in to them." We look for God on the outside, but as Christians, He is already in us. We need to stir up the spirit within. I, personally, have never seen a time when so many are dealing with so much. Seniors addicted to prscp. drugs, parents having to raise grandchildren, disease of so many kinds destroy- ing lives, we must remem- ber that this world is not our home. Call upon Him who resides within to strength- en you as we all make this journey to the safety of our real home. Church, we must bear one another's burdens or they will become too much. Pray for one another, call and check on someone, drop a note or card in the mail that they might know they are not alone. God's Blessings on you all. A Reminder of the Real Christmas Story It all started with the an- gel Gabriel just over 2000 years ago. The angel Gabriel proclaimed that Mary would have a very special baby and that the newborn would be called Jesus. If we move forward to Bethlehem, Mary and her husband, Joseph, went to town to pay their taxes. Un- fortunately, there was no- where for them to stay, so they took shelter in a sta- ble. There in Bethlehem, in a manger, the baby Jesus was born. A bright star in the East guided wise men to the stable and they brought with them gifts of Gold, Frankin- cense and Myrrh. This infor- mal ceremony has extended to the celebration of Christ- mas as we know it today. During this Christmas season, be sure to think about the true meaning of Christmas and what it means to you. Have a blessed week. We invite all of you to come and worship with us.
