Give us a call: 812-354-8500 A kitten with a length of string Is such a pret- ty, playful thing. A kitten with a leaf to chase exhib- its beauty, form and grace. But I love kittens curled up, wise, with ancient mys- tery in their eyes." Salva- tore Marsiglia This week PAWS is fea- turing a daunting young feline named Dazzle. Daz- zle is very inquisitive and tries to escape from the cat room anytime some- one opens the door. He loves the game of some- one chasing him, only to be put back in the cat room to wait until the next time the door is opened. Dazzle has a fun-loving personal- ity and is as frisky as they come. He has short, plush gray and white fur. His markings are very unique, and you must see this lit- tle fellow in person to tru- ly appreciate his cuteness. To adopt Dazzle please call 354-9894. Never in history have the nations of the world pos- sessed so lethal armaments, so many ways to bring death and destruction to the hu- man race. Some of our most brilliant minds spend their entire lives developing new and more sophisticated ways to destroy life. But have all our weapons brought us lasting security? On the contrary, if anything, they have made the world less secure. At any one time at least thirty wars rage in various parts of the world. We should be reminded of the false prophets of Jeremi- ah's day: "Peace, peace, they say when there is no peace" ( Jeremiah 8:11). In the midst of an uncer- tain and threatening world, however, we can have peace. It comes from putting our trust in the living God Al- mighty. If at any time you have no church to attend, feel free to join us for services. Your presence will be greatly ap- preciated and I am sure you will receive God's blessings. May God bless each and ev- eryone. Fighting Anxiety with God's Love "Cast all your anxiety on Him because he cares for you" (1 Peter 5:7, NIV ). We are approaching the holiday season once again and as we all know, it can be both a wonderful time of year and a stressful one, leaving you sometimes filled with anxiety. This verse reminds us that as children of God we can cast our fears, anxiety and wor- ries on him and he will give us strength and help us get through the situation we are going through. There are so many verses like this telling us to rely on God and let him guide our path, and give us peace and rest. This can be hard to do, even though it sounds real easy. But, if you can trust him, he will light your path and show you the way to a happy and success- ful life. Let God love you and help you through the hard times. So that in the good times, you can show him to others, and how he has helped and loved you and them. God bless you and keep you. See our Facebook page: Glezen Revival Center. Life is a labyrinth; the universe a riddle. Wise men and philosophers can- not answer our anxious ques- tions about the mysteries of life. None can solve the prob- lems of triumphant evil and thwarted goodness, of pain and sorrow, loss and death. We look and lo! We discover that in Him "are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge" (Col. 2:3). He answers our questions. He solves our riddles. We rest in Him as our "Counselor." We are oppressed with our utter littleness and weak- ness. We feel as helpless as an insect in the presence of the giant forces of the mate- rial universe. We are power- less to resist the vast world movements of men, the con- spiracies, the wars, the po- litical and social upheavals. TWIN OAKS CHURCH 1911 E. Co. Rd. 650 N. Paul begins most of his let- ters with these words. Lord, may we truly understand and receive grace. Amen! Truly, if you receive grace, you have peace. Take comfort in knowing that Jesus is faithful. Taste and see that He is good. Denny Wiscaver, Pastor Pam Nutter, Reporter Independent again and receive you, that where I am, there you may be also." When the Blood of Jesus washes away our sins, and we begin to learn what it means to serve Him, the world and its temptations begin to loosen their grip on our souls. And while we certainly have good works to do here on earth, in bringing forth fruit unto God, the Ho- ly Spirit ever draws us clos- er to home. The promise of a life eternal with no hurt- ing, no death, no sorrow, no pain and no sadness, only peace, love and Jesus, who would want to miss it? Sad- ly, so many believe this may not be possible, even though they live in this world that God Himself made. If given a chance, Christ himself will bear witness to the truth, that the promise of Heaven is real. Won't you seek Him to- day, to find out for yourself? God bless you. Gene Burkhart, Pastor
