"Dance groups, street performers, and energetic live music bring lots of fun to the festival," says Arnone. "It's summer's last hurrah, and a weekend in paradise." Admission is free. Saturday, Aug. 4, 10am-4pm, Books & Brews La Selva Beach Summer Fair: The annual event at the La Selva Beach Clubhouse features an arts & crafts fair (more than two dozen vendors), used book sale (Friends of La Selva Library co- sponsors the event), bake sale, food trucks, local microbrews, kids' crafts and face painting. In addition, there is live music on the lawn featuring several bands. Sat-Sun, Aug. 4-5, 11am-8pm, Watsonville Strawberry Festival: The event in historic downtown Watsonville offers family-friendly fun, food including strawberry treats, carnival rides and live entertainment. Tickets are $100. Dinner will be created by Cesario Ruiz of My Mom's Mole, featuring locally sourced organic ingredients including fresh CASFS-grown produce.
