Elizabeth June Hart Elizabeth June Hart, 89, of Washington, passed away at 9:13 a.m. Thursday, December 13, 2012, at Daviess Community Hospital. June was born October 11, 1930, to James and Karen (Caudell) Hart. She was a member of Cornettsville United Methodist Church. A Purdue graduate, she taught home economics at Pike Central High School for over 30 years. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, the Epsom's Homemakers Club, and held various office in the Epsom Alumni Association and Pike-Gibson Teacher's Association. She is survived by a brother, Paul Hart of Thorntown; three nieces, two nephews, a great niece, a great-great niece and a great-great nephew. A service was at 11 a.m. Monday, December 17, at Gill Funeral Home. Rev. Byron Fritz and Rev. Bill Talbert officiated. Gary was severely injured in a bicycle accident in 2008 but continued to enjoy life and appreciated every day as a gift. He loved to travel and enjoyed the outdoors and the warm Florida climate, but his passion was spending time with his family and friends. Surviving are seven brothers, Charles (Judy) Miller of Princeton; James (Jane) Miller of Owensboro, KY; Robert Miller, Dan (Sabrina) Miller and Gene (Barbara) Miller of Oatsville; John (Ingrid) Miller of Charlotte, NC; Jerry (Cathy) Miller of Mason City, IA; and honorary brother, Keith Webb of Jacksonville, FL; three sisters, Beverly (George) Riley of Mackey; Betty (Mac) McDonald of The Villages, FL; and Carolyn (John) Weathers of Holden Beach, NC. Funeral services will be held at Corn Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City on Friday, December 21 at 2 p.m. CST. Visitation is from 11 a.m. until the service on Friday. Hayes, 95, of Petersburg, passed away at 6:15 p.m. Sunday, December 16, 2012, at Amber Manor Nursing Home. He was born in Clarendon, A R, on December 3, 1917, to Clem and Bell (Craig) Hayes. He is survived by two sons, Richard L. Hayes of Petersburg and Gilbert Hayes of Oakland City; a daughter, Connie Davis of Petersburg; two sisters, Billie Lovejoy and Evelyn Kline of Chicago; and seven grandchildren. "The respiratory flu, on the other hand, will give you a fever, a cough and cold chills, and it can be lifethreatening."
