Gerald "Oz" and Karen Osman will celebrate their 43rd wedding anniversary on Dec. 21. Joe and Liz Thompson will celebrate their wedding anniversary on Dec. 25. Sue Ellen Barton and her son, Derek Barton, sang at a Christmas party last Friday for the Princeton Art Guild at a local restaurant. Joe and Bette Coomer attended the Christmas party at the Pike County Bird Hunters Club last Saturday. They had dinner and an auction. Last Sunday, Leon and Alice Whittington went to the Open House at RiverOaks Health campus. Santa was there, pictures were taken and there was visiting with friends and family. Sue Ellen and Don E. Parker of Princeton and Adele and Frank Kolb of Petersburg traveled to Clarksville, IN to the Derby Dinner Playhouse on December 14 to see the musical White Christmas. Upon returning to Princeton, they ate supper at a restaurant. Betty Cain visited with her sister, Janie Arnold, last Sunday at the Golden Living Nursing Home. On Monday evening, Rita McGuyer was in Princeton to bowl with her league. Then on the way home, she stopped to visit with Lucky and Linda Johnson. The 'Bunch for Lunch' crew met on Monday at a restaurant in Princeton. Those attending were: Evelyne McClure, Maurice Hurt and Fern Peavler of Princeton and Dona Jenkins and Pat and Jerry Ott from Francisco. Rick and Nancy Wheatley went to Washington on Monday and while there ate lunch at a local restaurant before returning home. Later in the afternoon, they went to Princeton to pick up their grandson, Malcolm, from school and take him home. Hazel Pauley went on Monday to the Christmas party at the Masonic Temple for the three chapters of the Beta Sigma Phi. Marylee Sullivan and Charlotte Miles visited with Phyllis Jones on Monday. Terry and Carol Hightower were in Jasper on Monday to do some shopping and they ate lunch at a local restaurant. Jim and Inez King enjoyed a visit from Chalmer Burden last week. Esther Pancake went to Pike Central to attend her grandsons', Joseph Hetman and Brodick Pancake, Christmas Band program last week. Walt and Marcella Robb went to Union for breakfast on Tuesday and then afterwards went to Princeton to the Water's Nursing Home to visit with friends: Vep Degenhart, Georgie Blanton and Frank Tolbert. Charlie and Anita Fugate, Vaughn Collins, Hazel Pauley and Tex Simmons went to a restaurant on Tuesday for lunch and then they all went to the Water's to visit with Jerry Hunt. Bill and Kay Reneer went to Jasper for breakfast at a local restaurant on Monday morning. Jim and Inez King went out to dinner last week at the chili supper at the General Baptist Church. Carol Hightower and Karen Edwards went to Evansville on Wednesday to do some shopping and afterwards ate supper out. Rita McGuyer had supper with her daughter, Tisha Jewel of Vincennes and sister, Faye Junklin, on Thursday. Leon Whittington went on Tuesday and Friday for the boys basketball games at Princeton High School. Barry and Sandy Bane attended the Brumfield School third grade Christmas program Thursday evening. Their granddaughter, Lexi Bane, is in Mrs. Wallace's third grade class. Charlotte Miles enjoyed having Neena Stevens and Betty Hoosier visit on Thursday and stay for supper and visit. Jim and Dessie Sherman attended the Hansen's retirees monthly get together at a local restaurant in Princeton on Wednesday. Charlie Wright and son, David, both of Monroe City, were in Evansville last week. Rita McGuyer and Faye Junklin went to Kentucky on Thursday to do some shopping and to visit with some family. Congratulations to Drs. Marybeth and John Feutz at the Princeton Veterinary Hospital for being honored with the Indiana Farm Bureau's Young Farmer Excellence in Agriculture Award. Mary Everett of Duggar went to JoAnn Neff's home for a Christmas party on Monday. On Tuesday, she attended another friend's, Estella Woods, party. She then went to Vincennes to a local restaurant for yet another party on Wednesday. Maurice Hurt and Evelyne McClure went to dinner on Wednesday at a restaurant in Princeton. Terry and Carol Hightower enjoyed visitors last week, Darrell and Marsha Mortz and Jim Freeland. Margie Wheeler of Hazleton had a visit from her son, Bob Sloan from Francisco, and from Janie Harbinson last week. Rick and Nancy Wheatley, along with Cyi Schmidt and son Nikoli, went to the Oakland City Elementary on Wednesday evening to see two of their grandchildren's, Daisy and Liam Comer, Christmas program. Charlie and Betty Jo Wright went to supper in Vincennes before attending services at the Bunker Hill Baptist Church on Thursday evening. Edman Stewart of Monroe City went to Washington on Friday to do some shopping and to visit with Shaun Colvin. Dallas Paul and Nancy Collins and her son, Brad, went to church on Thursday at the Bunker Hill Baptist Church in Vincennes. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Mills and Mary Hudson from Indianapolis visited with her aunt, Peg Hyneman of Hazleton, on Thursday. They also visited with John Hyneman and Janie Hartzburge of Vincennes. To celebrate, they all went to eat at a local restaurant in Princeton. On Friday, Peg took Mary to breakfast and to do some shopping in Princeton. Peg also had a visit from Eric Ramos and Levi Montgomery last week. Lee and Sherri Lange went to their grandson's Christmas program on Thursday evening. Carol Hightower went to the Gospel Center on Thursday afternoon for a Christmas party with the Bible Study ladies and for a gift exchange. Russell Stendal, a missionary from Minnesota and Columbia, South America, shared a video with the ladies. Ruth Morrison had visits last week from: Angi and Damien Pugh, Todd and Audrey Morrison, Justin Hill, Tina Morrison, Lucy McKannon, Debbie Alexander and Tyler Morrison. Karla Schroeder visited on Thursday and brought her some Christmas decorations. Bill and Marada Willis went to the soup supper at Donation given to Special Olympics Amber Manor Health Campus donated $750 to Pike County Special Olympics. The money was raised by the staff of Amber Manor. Lucy McKannon went to Vincennes on Thursday evening to attend the Christmas program of her grandson, Jake Schatz. Rick and Nancy Wheatley and John and Cyi Schmidt and son, Nikoli, went to the old Princeton High School on Thursday evening for the Christmas program of Rick and Nancy's granddaughter, Josie. Afterwards, they all went to a Mexican restaurant in Princeton for supper. Bill and Kay Reneer were in Evansville on Friday and before coming home they ate at a local restaurant there. Theresa Loveless was in Evansville on Friday and then she met with Peggy Beadles, Marvin Charles and Jane Rodgers for lunch at a restaurant in Oakland City. Evelyne McClure and Maurice Hurt went out to eat on Friday at a local restaurant in Princeton. They also took some Christmas gifts to her sister, Martha Horne, at RiverOaks Health campus and to visit with her. Steve and Karen Edwards and Terry and Carol Hightower went out for supper and did some shopping on Friday evening. Janie Arnold had her eyes looked at on Monday and she enjoyed her husband Jr. Arnold visiting with her several times last week. Alice Whittington and a secretary from the First Baptist Church in Princeton were taken out to lunch in Evansville by the pastors of the church on Friday afternoon. Hazel Pauley and Tex Simmons went to the 60th wedding anniversary party of Charlie and Emma Lou Shoultz at a church in Francisco on Saturday afternoon. Dessi Waple went to a Christmas party over the weekend at Kinder Moving and Storage Company, where she is employed. Faye Brown hosted her family for an early Christmas dinner and gift exchange over the weekend. Esther Pancake and Carol Robling went shopping in Jasper last week and had a good time. Terry and Carol Hightower went to Jasper, Washington and Loogootee on Saturday, did some shopping and ate lunch at a local restaurant in Loogootee before coming home. Later in the afternoon, Buddy Wyatt and Tom from Ireland stopped by to visit and Buddy's Here's hoping your holiday season is programmed with loads of harmony and joy and a minimum of glitches. Saturday night, Barry and Sandy Bane attended a retirement party in Evansville for their friend, David Thompson, who is retiring from Vectren. Bill and Marada Willis attended the wedding and reception of Judy Leighty and Gary Lagle at the Nazarene Church on Saturday evening. The reception followed the ceremony at the church. John and Marie Tolbert went to Vincennes on Saturday evening for dinner and to do some shopping. Mt. Tabor Church News by Carol Slinker It is with great joy that we tell you Todd Bryant has accepted our invitation to be our interim pastor effective immediately. Todd and his family have lived in Princeton since 1989 and are originally from Goshen. Both Pastor Todd and his wife, Angie, are pharmacists working in Princeton. They have three children; their oldest daughter is Morgan Schrodt who lives in West Salem; their second daughter is Martha Karrin, who is in her first year at Sullivan College of Pharmacy in Louisville; their son, Spencer, is a sophomore at Indiana State in Terre Haute. Pastor Todd said he "is very glad to be at our church and is excited about it." We at Mt. Tabor are equally excited and invite everyone to join us for Sunday School at 9:15 a.m. followed by our worship service at 10:30 a.m. - come meet Pastor Todd and Angie. If you don't know them already - you'll like them and our church. On Friday, December 21, we will be caroling at Sulli- van's in Union at 6 p.m. CST. It doesn't matter if you sing well or sing at all – please come and join us for the fellowship and to celebrate the "reason for the Season". Everyone enjoys it and, as an added bonus, we have fun. December 23, 2012, at 5 p.m. CST will be our Christmas Program and Candlelight Service followed by refreshments. We invite everyone to come as we again join together to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. Our Women's Bible Study Group meets every Wednesday night at 6 p.m. CST at the Church except the first Wednesday of each month when we meet at Sullivan's in Union. Our meetings are finished for this year; we'll resume meeting next year – January 9, 2013 at the church; come join us! As we move through our relatively normal lives this Christmas Season, please let's all join together to remember and pray for all those involved in the Newtown, Connecticut tragedy. So many, so young, so innocent, and so very hard to understand.
