This week PAWS is featuring a social young kitten named Katz, who is very precocious and wants to be included, as she tries to help in what- ever volunteers are do- ing in the cat room. She is an exceptional jump- er, sprinter and is there one minute and gone the next. Katz, approximately four months old, loves playing hide and seek with whoever will chal- lenge to search for her under a rug or inside a cat tree. You are invited to take part in these services. The Bible "The Bible is a book of faith, a book of doctrine, and a book of morals, and a book of religion, a special revela- tion from God; but is also a book which teaches man his own individual respon- sibility, his own dignity, and his equality with his fellow man"—Daniel Webster. Man's responsibility, "For since the creation of the world God's invisible quali- ties—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being under- stood from what has been made, so that men are with- out excuse" (Romans 1:20) (some corrections from last week). Hearts Ruled by Peace "Let the peace of Christ rule in your heats, since a members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful." (Colossians 3:15, K JV ). Peace, wonderful peace. As Christians we know that God is the only peace to be found in life, and the only person that can give true peace. Life is hard and can sometimes be very chaotic. Letting peace (Christ) rule your heart can even seem hard. Some may even de- ny that without knowing it, robbing themselves of true unaltered peace. Our God gives peace that passes all understanding. We can be thankful that or God is a God that is willing and able to give us peace even though we do not deserve it. God bless you and keep you. We welcome you to all ser- vices. Main Street, Petersburg Phone: 812-809-4544 Sunday services are at 10 a.m. and youth service at 6:15 p.m. "Isn't it obvious that faith and works are yoked part- ners, that faith expresses itself in works? That the works are "works of faith? " The full meaning of "be- lieve" in the Scripture sen- tence, "Abraham believed God and was set right with God," includes his action. It's that mesh of believing and acting that got Abra- ham named "God's friend."
