White was found guilty on May 25 of first-degree inten- tional homicide for shooting Erickson in the head and chest outside a Pick 'n Save store on Main Street in Sussex on May 14, 2016. Erickson led White and another man to believe that he was going to sell them a quarter-pound of marijuana, but when White held up the money for the drugs — some of it counterfeit — Erickson took it at gunpoint. White followed Erickson and shot him multiple times. He died a month later. In court on Aug. 9, the families of both White and Erickson were present to speak. "I wonder if he turned around," said Kimberly Erickson, mother of George. "Did you see his face as you pulled the trigger?" Family members of White spoke of his character and how he is a beloved father figure in their family to more than just his two kids. Milwaukee man gets life for fatal Sussex trail shooting
