Several generalists – including Freeman guest columnist and fair coordinator Barbara Eash – were on hand, and able to offer insight into a wide variety of objects. There were also specialists who appraised categories such as advertising and bottles, antique dolls and other toys, artwork, Asian antiques, books, clocks, jewelry and pocket watches, flags, German beer steins and military memorabilia. "It's nice to be able to help people," she said. "Their reactions are priceless. They are excited. Even if they are told the item's only worth $7, they want to know. They want to know whether it is something that can be out when the grandkids visit or if it needs to be on a high shelf." Linda Brown of Milwaukee was satisfied with the appraisal of her Italian glass pieces. "I loved it," she said. "It was very informative and they gave me information about how the item was made." Many of the attendees brought more than one item. In addition to her glassware, Brown also had something for the Asian antiques table and the costume jewelry table. Selling of appraised items was forbidden, but that suited Michael Rondorf of Trenton just fine. "I'm going to keep (the lamps I brought in) no matter what," he said. FINE SPECIALTY SHOPS 18900 W.
