If you use an antenna to watch free over-the-air TV, you might find that one or more of your channels is missing. But no need to worry. You can fix it in just a few minutes with your TV's remote control. Changes in your local TV frequencies might make it seem that way. But there's a quick fix. Winslow and Patoka Township fire- men were at the Winslow Elementary School last week for National Fire Pre- vention Week. Children got to see fire trucks and firefighting equipment. They also were in a demonstration trailer that fills with animated smoke to teach what to do when they are in a fire. They also got to use a fire hose. Fire Chief Bran- don Truitt said Patoka and other depart- ments in Pike County have free smoke detectors to give to people needing them. He said detectors for the hear- ing impaired are also available. Left: Fourth grader Alissa Wilson, of Mr. Olinger's class, climbs down from an upstairs window of the simulated fire trailer. Above: Kindergarten student Aries Rowe, in Kim Russell's class, gets into spraying a fire hose with help. Right: Khloee Bolin, of Jenna Knepp's kindergarten class, sprays the hose with help from a fireman. Below: Patoka Fire Chief Brandon Truitt got a big hug from his daughter, Kimberly. She was standing in line at one of the demonstrations when she saw him and ran over to give him a hug.
