More than a dozen youths went home at the end of the day with a big smile having won a pricey shotgun, rifle, crossbow or compound bow in the random drawing. All of the seven to 18 year olds enjoyed a day of choosing between dart throwing, archery, BB gun, .22 rifle, muzzle loader, clay bird shooting or hunting Chuckar over dogs. Club members provided a breakfast and lunch and then relaxed a bit while the Wash- ington Police Department gave a SWAT pre- sentation. That was followed by the random drawing and handing out of numerous priz- es provided by the Pike County Bird Hunt- ers Club, NR A, and many local businesses, organizations and individuals. Norm Dillon reported 28 youngsters participated in the Chuckar hunting, while dozens of young- sters lined up to take turns with darts, .22 rifles, archery, BB guns and trap. Club president Chris Kinman reports that 137 youth and 120 adults were on hand for the Youth Day events. A fter many years of leadership, Kinman has stepped down and Steve Boyer has taken over as PCBHC pres- ident. Prior to the Thursday election, the club had hosted their most successful Na- tional Shoot to Retrieve event. The Ken- tucky-Indiana Challenge featured the top qualified dogs in two states in a two-day hunt on the club's fields. Club member Ryan Neufelder helped out at the archery range this past Sat- urday at the 14th annual PCBHC Youth day.
