Pancake also finished ninth in preliminaries for the 200 -meter dash with a time of 30.00 seconds. Young, who placed fourth in preliminaries for the 100 -meter hurdles with a time of 18.27 seconds, placed fifth in the finals with a time of 17.95 seconds. She also placed seventh in the 300 -meter hurdles with a time of 53.03 seconds. In addition, Willis fin- ished 15th in the 800 -meter run with a season-best time of 2:51.21. As a team, Pike Central scored a total of 57 points, trailing Vincennes Rivet (90 points), Gibson South- ern (87), Barr-Reeve (67), Princeton (64) and Vin- cennes Lincoln (62). Wash- ington (51.5) was seventh, followed by South Knox (45.5), North Knox (43), Tecumseh (22.5), North Da- viess (16.5) and Wood Me- morial (16). The sixth-place finish was the highest by the Lady Chargers since 2013, when Pike Central also placed sixth. In addition, the 57 points scored by the La- dy Chargers were the most since 2010, when Pike Cen- tral scored 69 points. "We have a difficult re- gional to get out of to make it to state," Biesterveld not- ed. "Typically, if you make it out, you have truly do- ne something. Track is not a classed sport, so we are competing with schools two, three, maybe four times our size throughout the entire state of Indiana." "I cannot recall six girls from Pike Central going to regional the same year," Biesterveld added.
