It's the exhortation du jour for all seasons, but particularly around the holidays, when shopping transforms from an occasional pastime to a full-time job. And, let's be honest, shopping local isn't always easy. Local shops aren't always open when the shopping bug strikes, and seeking out the best locally made goods can turn a shopping trip into a road trip. Enter Etsy. The website brings together hundreds of thousands of "makers" from all over the world, selling handmade items, vintage goods and craft supplies. Etsy has long been a go-to site for finding that unique, quirky or memorable gift item. Here is a look at some local Etsy shops that we hope will help you add some local flavor to your gift-giving this holiday season. To find any of these shops on Etsy, just search for the shop name, or go to etsy.com/shop/___ and fill in the blank with the name of the shop.
