Placing first in individu- al events for the Chargers were eighth grader Wyatt Frasure in the 100 -meter dash with a time of 12.38 seconds, in the 200 -meter dash with a time of 26.25 seconds, and in long jump with a leap of 16 feet, 1/2 inch; and eighth grader Remington Gideon in shot put with a throw of 37 feet, 1 inch, and in discus with a personal-best throw of 110 feet, 8 -1/2 inches. The Chargers also placed first in the 400 -me- ter relay with a time of 55.15 seconds. GIRLS: In the eighth grade division, the Lady Chargers won five out of 11 events to finish first with 58 points. Washington was second with 54 points, fol- lowed by Washington Cath- olic with three points. Placing first in individu- al events for Pike Central were eighth grader Ash- ton Catt in shot put with a throw of 28 feet, 1 inch; eighth grader Addison Faulk in the 100 -meter hur- dles with a time of 20.02 seconds; eighth grader Eri- ka Vinnedge in discus with a throw of 76 feet, 5 inch- es; and eighth grader Ken- zie Woodland in long jump with a leap of 12 feet, 8 -1/2 inches. Pike Central also placed first in the 1,600 -meter re- lay with a time of 5:22. In the seventh grade di- vision, the Lady Chargers won three out of 11 events to finish with 34 points. Washington was first with 51 points while Washing- ton Catholic was third with 22 points. Placing first in individ- ual events for Pike Cen- tral were seventh grad- er Kennedy Willis in the 1,600 -meter run with a time of 16.09 seconds, and in the 800 -meter run with a time of 2:51.37; and sev- enth grader Kahle Young in long jump with a leap of 12 feet, 8 inches. Lady Chargers' track team places fourth at Pioneer Relays Junior Lillie Pancake placed second in pole vault with a season-best leap of 8 feet as the Pike Central High School girls' track and field team finished fourth out of six teams in the Pioneer Relays at Boon- ville on Monday, April 30. Also placing in individu- al events for the Lady Char- gers were freshman Lau- ren Young, who was third in the 100 -meter hurdles with a time of 17.94 sec- onds; junior Alyssa Jen- kins, who was third in dis- cus with a throw of 95 feet; senior Taylor Deffendoll, who was fifth in high jump with a leap of 4 feet, 10 inches; and freshman Lib- by Stone, who was sixth in long jump with a leap of 14 feet, 10 -1/2 inches. In addition, the team of Stone, Young, Maddie Wil- liams and Lily Willis placed second in the 400 -meter freshmen relay with a time of 5:07.88; the team of Def- fendoll, Young, freshman Jenna Meyer and senior Halley Powers placed third in the 400 -meter relay with a time of 55.32 seconds; the team of Jenkins, Pan- cake, Williams and junior Morgan Houchins placed third in the sprint medley relay with a time of 2:19.27; the team of Meyer, Powers, Stone and Young placed third in the 1,600 -meter re- lay with a time of 4:48.24; and the team of Deffendoll, Powers, Stone and Willis placed sixth in the varsity medley relay with a time of 5:26. As a team, Pike Central scored 49 points, trailing Jasper (135 points), Boon- ville (125) and Washing- ton (86). Tecumseh was fifth with 22 points, fol- lowed by Evansville Day School (14). The Lady Chargers will return to action on Tues- day, May 8, when they will compete in the Pocket Ath- letic Conference Champi- onship Meet at Tell City. Eighth graders Addison Faulk and Kenzie Woodland won two individual events each as the Pike Central Middle School girls' track and field team defeated vis- iting Dubois 78 -43 on Thurs- day, April 26. Faulk placed first in the 100 -meter hurdles with a time of 19.06 seconds, and in the 300 -meter hurdles with a time of 59.82 seconds; and Woodland placed first in the 100 -meter dash with a time of 13.88 seconds, and in long jump with a leap of 12 feet, 6 inches. Also placing first in indi- vidual events for the Lady Chargers were eighth grad- er Ashton Catt in shot put with a throw of 23 feet, 1 inch; eighth grader Kendall Radabaugh in the 200 -me- ter dash with a time of 30.44 seconds; eighth grader Eri- ka Vinnedge in discus with a throw of 82 feet, 1 inch; and seventh grader Kenne- dy Willis in the 800 -meter run with a time of 2:48. In addition, the team of seventh graders Emily Kreig, Sarah Siggers, Kah- le Young and Keena Young placed first in the seventh grade 400 -meter relay with a time of 1:00.91; the team of Faulk, Radabaugh, Wood- land and eighth grader Mor- gan Anderson placed first in the eighth grade 400 -meter relay with a time of 58.91 seconds; and the team of Siggers, Willis, Keena Young and seventh grader Lillian Thompson placed first in the 1,600 -meter re - lay with a time of 5:16.28. Placing second in individ- ual events for the Lady Char- gers were Catt in discus with a throw of 62 feet, 9 inches; Willis in the 1,600 -meter run with a time of 6:06; Kah- le Young in long jump with a leap of 11 feet, 10 inches; eighth grader Kayla Gladish in shot put with a throw of 22 feet, 11-1/2 inches; sev- enth grader Emily Krieg in the 200 -meter dash with a time of 30.9 seconds and in high jump with a leap of 4 feet; and eighth grader Jaize Mills in the 100 -meter hur- dles with a time of 20.59 sec- onds and in the 400 -meter dash with a time of 1:17.46 Placing third in individu- al events for the Lady Char- gers were Anderson in the 100 -meter hurdles with a time of 20.62 seconds and in the 300 -meter hurdles with a time of 1:01.40 ; Vinnedge in shot put with a throw of 22 feet, 10 -1/2 inches; and sixth grader Anna White- head in the 1,600 -meter run with a time of 6:42 and in long jump with a leap of 11 feet. Placing fourth in indi- vidual events for the Lady Chargers were Gladish in the 800 -meter run with a time of 3:08; Thompson in the 1,600 -meter run with a time of 6:48; Kahle Young in the 100 -meter dash with a time of 14.75 seconds and in the 200 -meter dash with a time of 31.25 seconds; Kee- na Young in the 400 -meter dash with a time of 1:24.18; and sixth grader Ashlynn Kirk in long jump with a leap of 10 feet, 4 inches. Placing fifth in individ- ual events for the Lady Chargers were Kreig in the 100 -meter dash with a time of 14.81 seconds; and eighth grader Quinlan Teague in the 1,600 -meter run with a time of 6:50. Pike Central, which host- ed a three-team meet with South Spencer and Wood Memorial on Monday, April 30, will compete in the Pock- et Athletic Conference Mid- dle School Championship Meet at Forest Park on Sat- urday, May 5. Faulk, Woodland lead PCMS girls' track team past Dubois Eighth graders Wyatt Frasure and Remington Gideon and seventh grader Xavier Shoultz won two in- dividual events each as the Pike Central Middle School boys' track and field team defeated visiting Dubois 82-47 on Thursday, April 26. Frasure placed first in the 100 -meter dash with a time of 12.44 seconds, and in the 200 -meter dash with a time of 25.40 seconds; Gideon placed first in discus with a throw of 107 feet, 4 inch- es, and in shot put with a throw of 38 feet, 10 inches; and Shoultz placed first in the 1,600 -meter run with a personal-best time of 5:25, and in the 800 -meter run with a time of 2:31. "He is tracking down the mile record for seventh grade," Chargers head coach Jeremy Howald said of Shoultz. "I have no doubt he will get it if the weather cooperates." Also placing first in indi- vidual events for Pike Cen- tral were seventh grad- er Braden Howald in pole vault with a personal-best leap of 7 feet, 6 inches; sev- enth grader Peyton Howald in high jump with a person- al-best leap of 4 feet, 8 inch- es; and seventh grader Cole Parks in the 400 -meter dash with a time of 1:03.38. In addition, the Chargers swept to first-place finishes in all four relay events: • The team of Shoultz, eighth graders Devin Car- lisle and Dane Gladish and seventh grader Dallas Reut- pohler won the 3,200 -meter relay with a time of 11:28.28. • The team of Peyton Howald, Parks, and sev- enth graders Griffin Boyd and Nolan Nelson won the seventh grade 400 -meter re- lay with a time of 55.63 sec- onds. • The team of Frasure and eighth graders Evan Conder and Darian Herre- ra and seventh grader Fenn McCrary won the eighth grade 400 -meter relay with a time of 55.47 seconds. • The team of McCrary, Nelson, Parks and Shoultz won the 1,600 -meter relay with a time of 4:23.68. Placing second in individ- ual events for Pike Central were Frasure in long jump with a leap of 5 feet, 3 inch- es; Peyton Howald in the 110 -meter hurdles with a time of 18.93 seconds and in the 300 -meter hurdles with a time of 51.46 seconds; and Nelson in the 400 -meter dash with a time of 1:03.59. Placing third in individ- ual events for Pike Central were Conder in the 110 -me- ter hurdles with a time of 20.41 seconds; Dane Glad- ish in the 1,600 -meter run with a time of 5:49; Mc- Crary in the 100 -meter dash with a time of 13.56 seconds; Nelson in high jump with a leap of 4 feet, 3 inches; Reutpohler in the 800 -meter run with a time of 2:51; eighth grader Gun- nar Earley in shot put with a throw of 33 feet, 8 inches; and seventh grader Jack Tegmeyer in long jump with a leap of 13 feet, 4 inches. Placing fourth in individ- ual events for Pike Central were Carlisle in the 800 -me- ter run with a time of 2:57; McCrary in the 400 -meter dash with a time of 1:05.30 ; Parks in long jump with a leap of 13 feet, 3 inches; Ru- etpohler in the 1,600 -me- ter run with a time of 6:15; eighth grader Samuel Cole- man in discus with a throw of 84 feet, 5 -1/2 inches; and eighth grader Darian Her- rera in the 200 -meter dash with a time of 29.78 sec- onds. "We had a great meet," Jeremy Howald said. "We are always a little nervous with Dubois. They are a sol- id track team. But our kids worked hard all night." "We are all getting better times each week," he add- ed. "We are looking forward to PAC on May 5 at Ferdi- nand."
