Josh Byrd, of the Highway Department, said heavy rain had damaged the 30 inch and 18 inch culverts in the road. Byrd said they decided to replace the two smaller culverts with a 48 inch culvert. Because CR 50 W. was the only route in and out to several homes, Byrd said they tried to do it as quickly as possible on Thursday. "Our goal is to get it done by 11 a.m.," said Byrd.
