First graders read- ing and highlighting sight words. First grade students using chrome books and iPads to practice their math skill for the week! Polar the Therapy Dog visited the third grade class as a celebration for completing IREAD 3 testing. Fourth grade student Daw- son Fair giving his Jackdaw presentation for the Frindle novel we read. Whitney Norris from Mrs. Hartke's second grade class brought in a special St. Pat- rick's Day treat to share with her class. Mrs. Leigh Ann Tusing and the third grade students are testing ph levels in dif- ferent liquids. Rylon Evans and Jaelynn Miley are playing Twister during inside recess (not pictured: Cooper Hartke is oper- ating the spinner) Mrs. Beatriz Cobo's seventh period consumer science class did an amazing job making home made chocolate chip cookies. Noah Miller, Abigail Vest and Breanne Fuhr- man are scooping cookie dough onto a cookie sheet during Mrs. Cobo's fourth period consum- er science class. MENU Thursday, March 22:Beef taco nachos or chicken faji- ta nachos; salsa, lettuce and tomato, refried beans, fresh veggies or choice of fruit. Friday, March 23: Turkey and cheese sub, pepperoni pizza or popcorn chicken and roll; crispy baked sea- soned fries, baked beans, fresh veggies or choice of fruit. Monday, March 26: Spring Break. Tuesday, March 27: Spring Break. Wednesday, March 28: Spring Break. Virtual Trip to Spain Mrs. Beatriz Cobo's eighth grade class took a virtual field trip to her home land, Spain! They loved looking at different scenery. They were amazed when we "went into" the Sagrada Familia Cathe- dral in Barcelona. On their way back they took a "detour" and visited the Taj Mahal because they had studied it when they learned about India. It was spectacular. Mrs. Cobo said her classes will be doing another field trip soon! Winslow Elementary MENU Thursday, March 22: Beef and cheese nachos with sal- sa, shredded romaine, baby carrots and strawberries. Friday, March 23: Grilled cheese sandwich, potato wedges, baked beans and kiwi. Monday, March 26: Spring Break Tuesday, March 27: Spring Break. Wednesday, March 28:Spring Break. CALENDAR Mar. 19-22: Book Fair! Students will be visiting the Book Fair during their regular library time. The book fair will be open for families during Grandparent's Day Mar. 22: Grandparents' Day. Grades K-2 will begin their programs at 9 a.m. Grades 3-5 will begin their programs at 1 p.m. The programs will take place in the gym. You may visit the K-2 classrooms af- ter the K-2 program. You may visit the 3-5 classrooms after the 3-5 program. Mar. 23: Report cards sent home Mar. 26-30: Spring Break-School will not be in session! Have fun!
