Also competing for the Chargers in individual events but not placing was sixth grader Max Burkhart, who posted a time of 57.70 seconds in the 50 -yard free- style and a season-best time of 1:06.55 in the 50 -yard backstroke. In addition, the team of Max Burkhart, Correll, Luff and McKinney placed sec- ond in the 400 -yard freestyle relay with a time of 7:25.04; and the team of Max Bur- khart, Correll, McKinney and sixth grader Tyler Zim- merman placed fourth in the 200 -yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:15.06. PCMS boys' swimming team drops 91-76 loss to South Spencer Sixth grader Graham Mullins won two individual events while seventh grad- ers Isaac Burdette, Michael Burkhart and Draven Rea- dle won one each as the Pike Central Middle School boys' swimming team dropped a 91-76 loss to visiting South Spencer on Monday, March 5. Mullins placed first in the 100 -yard individual medley with a time of 1:14.49, and in the 50 -yard backstroke with a time of 34.09 seconds. Burdette placed first in the 50 -yard breaststroke with a season-best time of 43.68 seconds; Michael Burkhart placed first in the 50 -yard freestyle with a time of 34.31 seconds; and Readle placed first in the 100 -yard freestyle with a time of 1:22.52. In addition, Burdette, Mi- chael Burkhart and Mullins teamed up with eighth grad- er Alex Edrington to place first in the 200 -yard medley relay with a time of 2:38.17, while Edrington, Mullins and Readle teamed up with sixth grader Wyatt Luff to place first in the 200 -yard freestyle relay with a time of 2:22.38. PCMS girls' swim team holds off South Spencer for 92-78 win Seventh grader Jillian Bailey won two individual events as the Pike Central Middle School girls' swim- ming team posted a 92-78 victory over visiting South Spencer on Monday, March 5. Jillian Bailey placed first in the 100 -yard individu- al medley with a time of 1:23.96, and in the 50 -yard butterfly with a time of 35.02. She also teamed up with eighth graders Sarah Fen- wick, Emma McKinney and Jaize Mills to place first in the 200 -yard medley relay with a time of 2:39.11. Also placing first in indi- vidual events were McKin- ney in the 50 -yard breast- stroke with a season-best time of 42.44 seconds; Mills in diving with a three-dive score of 75.25 points; and eighth grader Amelia Bai- ley in the 200 -yard freestyle with a season-best time of 3:22.53.
