Hopefully, we can come out and he can get 12 the next game, and we can get a win." Following is a game-by- game summary: Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian 81, Pike Central 51 Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian made 10 of 12 field goal attempts – including five of six tries from beyond the three-point arc – and was 2-for-2 from the free throw line while outscoring the Chargers 27-16 in the first quarter. Frank Davidson, a 6 -foot-6 junior, scored 10 points in the first period for the Braves, going 4-for-4 from the floor, including two three pointers. A fter senior Devin Don- aldson hit a three-pointer to give Fort Wayne Blackhawk a 30 -16 advantage with 7:08 left in the first half, Pike Cen- tral pulled back to within 12 points twice – at 30 -18 on a basket by senior Breyton Booker and 32-20 on a bas- ket by senior Bryant Nalley – before a three-point play by 6 -foot-9 freshman Caleb Furst extended the Braves' lead to 35 -20. Following a basket by Booker that cut the deficit to 35 -22, Fort Wayne Black- hawk scored five straight points – on a basket by Da- vidson and a three-point play by 6 -foot-8 senior Drake Thompson – to stretch its lead to 40 -22 with 1:33 left in the second period. However, the Chargers answered with a 5 -0 run of their own – on a three-point- er by Nalley and a pair of free throws by Booker – to close back to within 40 -27 at the in- termission. A fter the Braves scored the first three-points of the second half to extend their lead to 43-27 with 5:08 left in the third period, Pike Cen- tral would pull to within 12 points twice – at 45 -33 and 48 -36. Senior Jalan Mull then scored nine straight points – on back-to-back three-point- ers and a three-point play – as Fort Wayne Blackhawk stretched its lead to 57-36 with 1:49 remaining in the third quarter. The Chargers would get no closer than 19 points the rest of the game. Mull made all eight of his second-half field goal at- tempts – including three three-point shots – while leading the Braves with 26 points. He also had game- high totals in assists (7) and steals (4). Davidson, who blocked three shots, added 17 points while Furst and Thomp- son tossed in 11 points and 6 points, respectively. Furst also had a team-high five re- bounds. For the game, Fort Wayne Blackhawk made 31 of 46 field goal attempts – a 67.4 percent average – and hit nine of 11 tries from the free throw line while turning the ball over five times. From beyond the three- point line, the Braves – who improved to 7-1 – made 10 of 19 attempts. "Going into it, we were well aware of who they had and how much size they had," Elliott said. "Mull was better than I thought he was going to be. He really played well all tournament. And the Davidson kid shot the ball re- ally well." "They came out, and when they're that big, it makes it difficult to try to dou- ble down in the post when they're kicking out and their shooters aren't missing any- thing," Elliott added. "They just shot the ball really well and that made it pretty diffi- cult on us." Booker led Pike Central in scoring with 17 points while grabbing a team-high five rebounds. Nalley added 16 points and three rebounds, while junior Christian Ben- son came off the bench to score seven points.
