Right: It was a group effort decorating for the first OMA Christmas pro- gram! Both students, staff and community members went all out! Pictured: Adalyn Nolan & Michael Woods Sixth grade classroom spelling bee winners were Patience Burns, Kynlee Anthis, Breanna Britton, Braxton DeWeese, Kearstan Hartley and Karley Kavanaugh. Overall sixth grade winner was Karley Kavanaugh. Eighth Grade Homeroom winners were Abigail Skelton, Allie Harrison, Ehtan Hill, Connor Bolin and Isaac Theising. Overall eighth grade winner was Ethan Hill. Above: Michelle LeMond's class is doing a STEM project about electricity. They were given a battery, foil, masking tape and Christmas lights. They worked in teams and figured out how to con- nect the lights and make them all light up. Jersey Vickers, Amber Cassitty, Samuel McConnell and Cainan Russell discuss how to make the project work. Right: The Winslow Lion's Club donated dic- tionaries to the third grade students. Lion's Club members Lucy Gamble, Linda Daugherty and Le- roy Balbach came to pass out the dictionaries and posed with Amanda Gonzales' third grade class. Fourth grade stu- dents are studying static electricity in science and how op- posite charges attract. Grant Stinson and Li- la Taylor demonstrate how static electricity affected their balloon and Lila's hair. London Kiper is successful in getting one of her light bulbs to light up. Neveah McGee and Jolee Hedinger are very excited to be the first ones to success- fully light up all three of their Christmas lights during their STEM experiment. Seventh Grade homeroom winners were Kaden Goodrid, Devin Indorf, Gavin Roy, Kyla Kinman, and Courtney Perry. Overall seventh grade win- ner was Kaden Goodrid. Below: Lydia Abel, Jaron Woolsey and Kaydee Sims figure out how to put their structure together in a way to withstand the wind and water test. SADD Build a Basket Pike Central Middle School SADD sponsored a homeroom Build A Basket coordinated by Gen- erations at Vincennes University. The fundraiser aims to create baskets for homebound individuals during the holiday season. Danette Weisman's sixth grade homeroom was the winning classroom for bringing in the most items. Joy Hobson-Smith is Pike County's Angel Worx Coordinator.
