C-2 Church Wednesday, December 27, 2017 The Press-Dispatch Continued in next column Continued in next column I don't need to make a New Years Resolution, I'm already purrfect. This week PAWS is fea- turing a handsome young cat named Boo. Like Boo says, he is about the per- fect cat, as he is not the least bit annoying. He will be a lap cat, if invit- ed, but if not, he will me- ander around the office at PAWS and mind his own business. He has shiny black fur, large golden eyes, approximately two years old, neutered, has all his shots and is ready to find a loving home to ring in the new year. PAWS appreciated ev- eryone who donated to the shelter over the hol- idays and wishes every- one a Happy New Year. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord (Luke 2:10 - 11 K JV ). ZOAR U.M. CHURCH 8818 W. Old Rd. 64 Holland 812-536-4862 Sunday, Dec. 31 at 9 a.m. morning worship service; 10 :15 a.m. Sunday school classes and 7 p.m. Christ- mas Eve program. Keith Chanley, Pastor name of Jesus Christ. Otwell United Methodist meets at 9 a.m. for Sunday School and you may also join us in class. "So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his peo- ple for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attain- ing to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ" (Ephesians 4:11-13, NIV ). Jan Hollis, Reporter I recently saw this quote, "No one can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending." I real- ly began to think about that statement. The conclusion was that we don't start over, but we begin again right where we are, making things better in our lives. As a believer in Christ, it is not about saying I will do this and I will do this and I won't do that and then drop- ping the idea or falling short. It is more about asking the Lord to help us each day, to fall deeper and deeper in love with Him. This way our focus will be set on the things of heaven and not on all this earthly stuff. If I were to make a New Year resolution. It would be to have a deeper commit- ment, a deeper love, and a deeper worship for the Lord. In the beginning of this past year, He spoke to me in that still small voice in prayer and said, "I am more than enough. I am more than enough in every area of your life." He also said to tell oth- ers the same thing. How we will end this year will be determined by how we started it. Did we want to get more "INTIMATE' with the lover of our soul? I looked up the word intima- cy and the meaning is to be close, familiar, very person- al and private. Do you want a new ending this year? How do you want the end- ing of your life? If you're not a Christian, know that this could be the best New Year of your life. Your life can be filled with hope and peace. To know what the ending will be is an extra bonus. Why should every year be the same as the one before with nothing really chang- ing? A fter all, the New Year resolutions may or may not get accomplished. David Walton, Pastor Hope Barnett, Reporter worship service 10 :30 a.m.; youth group meetings the last Sunday of each month 6 - 7 p.m.; community luncheons the third Tuesday of each month 10 a.m.-noon CDT. The community of Good Shepherd United Method- ist Church exists to glorify God through Jesus Christ our Lord. As a body of believ- ers, we pledge ourselves to al- low the Holy Spirit to develop within us maturity of spirit, unity of faith, and knowledge of the Son of God, so that we may be prepared to share His love, mercy and grace through our words and ac- tions, to a needy world. We extend an invitation to the public to come and wor- ship with us. The Good Shepherd takes care of His sheep. Douglas Low, Minister
