Remember those on our prayer list, the shut-ins and our lost loved ones. Christmas should be all about Jesus, who came into our world to show us what God is like, lived among us so He could identify with our hurts and pain, as well as our joy and happiness, and then went to the cross to die for us so that we could be re- deemed from our sin and have peace with God. Those are things worth remember- ing and celebrating, both now and anytime of the year. "On coming to the house, they saw the child with GR ACE G.B. CHURCH 1007 E. Union St. Winslow No Sunday School. December has started out great at Mt. Olive Gen- eral Baptist as we spend this season focusing on our per- sonal relationships with Je- sus, whom we celebrate this month. On Friday, Dec. 15, we will use the newly remod- eled basement area to bab- ysit while parents finish Christmas Shopping or have a date night. We will have Christmas movies, games, crafts and snacks, after we hear the story of Jesus' birth. This will be a fundraiser for our youth group's trip to youth confer- ence. At 10 :30 a.m. on Decem- ber 17, the youth will be pre- senting their Christmas pro- gram during our morning worship service. We will be having servic- es on Christmas Eve from 9:30 -10 :30 a.m. We will al- so be having services usual time and will also be serving Communion, during morn- ing worship. "In Him dwells all the full- ness of the Godhead bodily" (Colossians 2:9). On that first Christmas night in Bethlehem, "God was manifested in the flesh" ( I Timothy 3:16). This man- ifestation was in the person of Jesus Christ. What an incredible truth. Think of it. The God of the universe came down from Heaven that first Christ- mas night and took human form. If you want to know what God is like, then take a long look at Jesus Christ, because He was God in hu- man flesh. In Him were dis- played not only the perfec- tions that had been exhibit- ed in the creation, such as wisdom, power, and majes- ty, but also such perfections as justice, mercy, grace and love. "The Word was God and the Word became flesh and dwelt among us" ( John 1:1,14). To His disciples Je- sus said, "You believe in God, believe also in Me" ( John 14:1). The sequence of faith is inevitable. If we believe in what God made and what God said, we will believe in the One whom God sent. If at any time you have no church to attend, feel free to join us for services. I'm sure you will leave feel- ing blessed. May God bless each and every one. Remember Jesus is the reason for the season. Jerry "Tuffy" Blackwell, Pastor Sharon Kendall, Reporter PLEASANT RIDGE G.B. CHURCH 1738 E. Co. Rd. 75 N. Petersburg Pastor 812-789-2348 Sunday morning service 10 :30 a.m. Everyone is al- ways welcome. "For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth" (Acts 13:47, K JV ). Remember to pray for those on the prayer list and also remember "Jesus is a way maker. He can make a way when you don't see a way." "The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe" (Proverbs 29:25, K JV ). The magic of Christmas is not the presents, but His presence. Have a safe week. December 27, special called meeting for the elec- tion of officers at 6:30 p.m. January 3 at 6 p.m., Advi- sory Board meeting, with business meeting following. Thought for the week: "He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day" (Psalm 91:4-5). Be in prayer this week for the lost, the sick, our church, our country and leaders, and always each other.
