Distractions are one of the ways that the enemy tries to derail us from accomplish- ing what God has asked us to do. Some examples of these distractions are: sickness, money issues, people com- ing against you, etc... Many times, we'll focus on and try to fix the problem, not real- izing that the problem is just a symptom (a sign of the ex- istence of something, espe- cially of an undesirable situ- ation) of the enemy trying to gain a foothold in our lives. The Bible clearly tells us that our battle isn't against people or circumstances in this physical world. Ephe- sians 6:12 "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritu- al wickedness in high plac- es." When we recognize where the attack is coming from, we can defeat it at its root. Using the Word of God and the knowledge that Je- sus has given us all authori- ty in His name, we can with- stand and defeat every at- tack that comes our way, re- gardless of what vehicle the enemy tries to use to come against us. Don and Christina Priest, Senior Pastors John and Julie Marron, Youth Pastors Melissa Bowens, Reporter JACK WALLACE PARSONS Jack Wallace Parsons, 67, of Petersburg, passed away at 12:50 p.m. on November 6, 2017, at his residence. He was preceded in death by his parents. Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, No- vember 10, 2017, at Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianap- olis. Visitation will be on Thursday, from 5 -8 p.m. at Harris Funeral Home in Pe- tersburg.
