Thompson, 84, of Washington, Ind., went to her Heavenly Home while surrounded by fam- ily at 1:30 a.m. on May 29, 2017, while at Jasper Memo- rial Hospital. She was born on April 26, 1933, in Loogootee, to Hen- ry and Floe (Burress) Kro- del. She was a Loogootee High School graduate in 1951. On July 28, 1951, she married the love of her life, the late Brayton Thompson. Imogene was a homemaker. She loved to read, work puz- zles, manage her flower bed, work in the garden and can her green beans. She attend- ed Twin Oaks Church in Pe- tersburg. Imogene is survived by two brothers, Roger Kro- del, of Placerville, Calif. and James Krodel, of Den- ver, Colo.; three daughters, Marsha Blake ( James), of Washington, Ind., Annette Thompson, of Columbus, Ind., and Angela Mickel- son, of Margate, Fla.; six grandchildren; and 10 great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Fred Krodel; her husband, Brayton A. Thompson; and one daughter, Diane Ross. The funeral service will be on Friday, June 2, 2017, at 10 a.m. at Gill Funeral Home, 308 E. Walnut Street, Washington, with Rev. Tim Miller, Rev. Robert Thomp- son and Rev. Stephen Cas- sady officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4- 8 p.m. at the funeral home and prior to the service on Friday from 9 -10 a.m. Inter- ment will follow the service at Oak Grove Cemetery. The greatest remem- brance is of what our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ did for us - remembering all of the blessings that our Father God bestows on us. These are by far the greatest bless- ings we receive. Our Free- dom in Christ is priceless. Each Wednesday at 7 p.m. there will be a DVD study of the Promised Land. We will be starting a new Ray Vander Lann series "That the World May Know." Study titled: "The Life and Minis- try of the Messiah." Some meet in the sanctuary at 6:30 p.m. for prayer. Feel free to join us on Wednes- day nights. Children's school's out party will be Friday, June 16 at 5 p.m. Children and teens are welcome. Walnut Street Pastor 812-354-6646 Normal weekly schedule is as follows: Sunday school starts at 9:30 a.m., with morning worship starting at 10 :30 a.m.; Sunday night at 6 p.m., there is a casual Bible study; Wednesday eve- ning, the children and youth ministries meet at 6:30 p.m., during the school year. Washing cars for Special Olympics Julie Butts and Charles Hollingsworth washed cars Saturday morning in Casey's parking lot to help raise money for the Indiana Special Olympics. Kim Woods said anyone interested in donating to Special Olympics or participat- ing in their events can call her at 812-766-0461. Made in the shade Derek Heichelbech, Alexa Mehringer and her dog, River, had the perfect spot in the shade to chill on Memorial Day at Prides Creek Park. Dr. Brian Woebkenberg and Jarred Lampert joins Norris and Blessinger Orthopaedics and Spine Effective August 1, Dr. Brian Woe- bkenberg and Jarred Lampert, PA-C will be transitioning to private prac- tice at Norris and Blessinger Ortho- paedics and Spine, 1900 St. Charles Street in Jasper. A native of southern Indiana, Brian Woebkenberg, M.D. returned to the area to serve the region as an ortho- paedic surgeon and sports specialist. Dr. Woebkenberg received his med- ical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine and completed an orthopaedic surgery residency at Ma- digan Army Medical Center in Taco- ma, Washington. Board certified in orthopedic surgery with a subspecial- ty in sports medicine, he is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ortho- paedic Surgeons. Dr. Woebkenberg joined the Active Medical Staff at Me- morial Hospital and Health Care Cen- ter in 2011. Jarred Lampert attended both In- diana University and Butler Univer- sity for a bachelor's degree in Biolo- gy as well as Health Sciences. He then went on to receive his Physician As- sistant master's degree at Butler Uni- versity. Prior to becoming a Physician Assistant, Jarred was a Combat Med- ic in the United States Army Nation- al Guard. Summer time fun Summer water fun has begun in Pike County. Above the Kiefer Splash Park in Hornady Park was filled with kids having a blast including a bus load of kids from the Hummingbird Day Care in Hol- land. At right, Re- becca Popp holds her one-year-old Matthew Popp near the water. The Splash Park opened last week. Prides Creek Beach also opened over the Memorial Day weekend. It is open everyday from noon to 6 p.m.
