WOOLS Colonel Richard R. (Dick) Wools, 70, USAF Retired, died May 20, 2017, at his residence in Weeki Wachee, Fla., after a two-year long battle with cancer. He was born May 7, 1947, to the late Ray and Irmal Wools, in Linton. Dick graduated in 1965 from Petersburg High School. He received a Bach- elor of Arts degree from In- diana State University in 1969 and a Master's Degree in Management from Web- ster College in 1981. Dick entered the USAF af- ter teaching industrial edu- cation for three years in Co- lumbus from 1969 -1972. He was a B-52 Instructor Nav- igator/Radar Navigator at Seymour Johnson AF Base from 1971-1979. He was se- lected to serve in the 4200th Test and Evaluation Squad- ron at Edwards AFB in Cal- ifornia. From 1979 to 1981, he served as B-52 Test Ra- dar navigator, and after com- pletion of the cruise missile testing, he was assigned as the Chief, B-1 Operations, at Edwards AFB and then assumed the duty of Direc- tor, Operational Test and Evaluation of the Advanced Cruise Missiles at Edwards AFB from 1984-1986. Moving to the Pentagon in June 1986, Dick was as- signed as Headquarters USAF Chief, Congressio- nal Operations in the Under Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition staff until 1989. He served as the Pro- gram Element Monitor for the Advanced Cruise Mis- siles until Jan 1991, when he entered Defense Systems Management College at Fort Belvoir, Va. From June 1991-1994, he served as the Chief, Test and Evaluation and Chief, Integration in the Special Operations Research, De- velopment and Acquisition Center, Headquarters Spe- cial Operations Command at MacDill AFB, Tampa, Fla. In June of 1994, he as- sumed the position of the Cruise Missile, Product Group Manager, Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center, Tinker AFB, OK. In July 1997, he served as the USAF Program Manag- er for the V-22 at Patuxent River Naval Air Station until his retirement from the US - AF in 1999. From 1999 to 2007, he was a program director for BAE Systems in the Northern Virginia area, and then re- tired to Weeki Wachee, Fla., in 2007. Dick was awarded a Cer- tified Acquisition Profes- sional Level III in Program Management. His military awards and decorations in- clude the National Defense Service Medal, Joint Ser- vice Meritorious Service Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, and the Air Force Commendation Med- al. Col. Wools had over 2400 flying hours in the B-52D, B- 52G, and F-111 aircraft. Dick is survived by his wife, Mary Jane (Ander- son); and sons Tony ( Jennie) Wools, and Jeff Wools, both of Leesburg, Va.; and five grandchildren, Sophie, Lil- lie, Chloe and Alex Wools, and Brandon Yu, all of Lees- burg. Burial with full military honors will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a lat- er date. LARRY J. BOUCHIE Larry "Ace" Bouchie, 75, of Vincennes, passed away on Friday, May 26, 2017, at his home. He was born on Oct. 4, 1941, in Vincennes to Ber- nard and Annabelle "Ann" (Campbell) Bouchie. Lar- ry worked alongside his fa- ther, brothers and sons in the family business, Bouch- ie Oil. He enjoyed shooting at turkey shoots and horse racing. His parents preceded him in death. Surviving are his chil- dren, Pat (Cindy) Bouch- ie, of Newburgh, June (Charles) Cochran, of Vin- cennes, and Jeffrey (Donna) Bouchie, of Wheatland; his sister, Carol Ann Sherman, of Vincennes; his brothers, William Bouchie, of Sullivan County, and Joe Bouchie, of Vincennes; and his grand- children, Charlie Cochran, Tanner Bouchie and Drake Bouchie. He will be missed by his family and his dog, Buddy. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2017, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Friends may visit with the family from 9 a.m. until the hour of services at the church on Thursday. Ar- rangements were made by Goodwin Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at www.goodwinfa- milyfh.com. DARLEY PHILLIPS Darley Eugene "Buggs" Phillips, 71, of Petersburg, passed away suddenly on Friday May 27, 2017. He was born in Vincennes on Feb. 5, 1946, to the late John Phillips and Ellone Bartlow. Buggs was the young- est of four children. His sib- lings include: brother, Rich- ard (deceased); and sisters Vonda Crabtree and Mon- zella Stout, both of Peters- burg. He was married to Debra Bradfield, who pre- ceded him in death in 2014. Buggs has three sons, Mitchell (deceased), Doug (Amy) Phillips, of Peters- burg, and Jarod (Marva) Bradfield, of Bloomington, Ind. He proudly has four grandchildren, Seth, Clay- ton, Jaron and Jordan; sev- eral cousins, nieces, neph- ews and two great-grand- children. He has spent the last two years with Helen Arnett, who was very spe- cial to him. He voluntarily joined the United States Army af- ter high school and proud- ly served in the Vietnam War. A fter the service, he became a union bricklay- er, where he rose to be- come a master brickmason, whose work is in many of the schools and public buildings in the Tri-State. He was a lifetime mem- ber of VFW Post 3587 and Moose Lodge #1670. Buggs was an active member of the military funeral detail. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Buggs served his country, his community, and his fami- ly – and will be missed by all. Services will be Wednes- day, May 31, 2017, at 1 p.m. at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg, with visitation from 9 a.m. to service time on Wednesday. Burial will follow at Walnut Hills Cem- etery. Harris Funeral Home is entrusted with care. EDWARD THOMAS LEMOND Edward Thomas Lemond, Sr., 86, of Evansville, passed away at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville. He was born June 12, 1930, in Duff, Ind., to Or- ville and Catherine (Nolen) Lemond. He retired from the Unit- ed States Air Force as a tech sergeant after 20 years of service. Ed enjoyed collect- ing and building clocks, and bowling. He was preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers, Pete, Robert, Bil- ly and Joe Lemond. He is survived by his wife, Reva Theis, of Evansville; six children, Marie (Dan) Enlow, of Boonville, Ed (Deborah) Lemond, Jr., of Jasper, Nancy (Tom) Mutch- man, of Huntingburg, Paul (Susan) Lemond, of Hunt- ingburg, Mike (Debbie) Le- mond, of Winslow, and Jeff Lemond, of Huntingburg; nine siblings, James, Os- car, Albert and Charlie Le- mond, Margaret Brown, Mary Ann Bohnert, Ester Peach, Henrietta Toby, and Melba Montgomery; twenty grandchildren; thirty-eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services for Ed- ward Lemond, Sr. were held at 2 p.m. EDT on Saturday, May 27, 2017, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Hunt- ingburg, with burial follow- ing at Mayo Cemetery near Duff. The V.F.W. Post #2366 Memorial Detail conducted military graveside rites. Friends called for visita- tion at the Nass & Son Fu- neral Home in Huntingburg from noon to 2 p.m. Satur- day, the day of the service. Condolences may be shared online at www.nas- sandson.com. LOREN "CHARLES" SHR ADER, JR. Loren "Charles" Shrad- er, Jr., 83, of Indianapolis, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at Community Hospital East in Indianapolis. He was born on Octo- ber 10, 1933, in Richmond, Ind., to Loren Charles Sr. and Myrtle Rose (Lawson) Shrader. Charles worked as a rail- road engineer in Indianap- olis. He was also a minister for many years at a church in Centerton, Ind. He was a professional photographer and his hobbies included gardening, fishing and mo- torcycles. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Walter Shrader. He will be lovingly missed by his wife, Sue (Chadwick) Shrader; children, Sarah (Timothy) Breedlove, Rob- ert (Marcie) Shrader, Mary (Richard) Shrader-Charle- bois, Stacy ( Jay) Wade and Erin (Corey) Woodson; sib- lings, Paul Shrader and Rosella ( Jerry) Hill; and ma- ny nieces, nephews, grand- children and great-grand- children. Services were at 2 p.m. Friday, May 26, 2017, at Flan- ner and Buchanan-Washing- ton Park East in Indianapo- lis,, with Pastor Todd Curtis officiating. Burial followed at Washington Park East Cemetery.
