As the game was about to begin, they all entered the fi eld and formed a semi-circle around home plate as the National Anthem was sung and the Pledge of Allegiance recited. The crowd gave these special cancer survivors a standing ovation. The bats and shirts were auctioned off to raise money for Breast Cancer. It was a sell out! A crowning touch was the pink socks each player wore to complete the Owls salute for their Breast Cancer Awarness Night. It made Saturday, July 7th a most memorable evening.
