Kony 2012 Who is Joseph Kony? based out of Uganda, Africa. He has been abducting children for approximately thir- ty years, and he has continually made girls into sex slaves and the boys into children soldiers against their will. Over the years he has abducted close to a total of 30,000 children and made them kill and mutilate people against their will. Kony does not have his Army for any reason other than to the maintain power he already has. Many times Kony has used peace talks to regain his power and then later turned it against the people in Uganda. In 2011 the ICC (In- ternational Criminals Court) listed Joseph Kony as their number one most wanted person due to the severity of his crimes consisting of crimes against humanity, murder, and mass amounts of kidnapping and child enslavery. J oseph Kony is the leader of the LRA which is the Lords Resistance Army Kony 2012 movement needs to make peo- ple aware on who Joseph Kony is. The goal is in order to do that we must make him famous! The way Invisible Children Inc. is planning on doing that is by using other people's fame, they plan on using twenty pop culture icons and 12 political figures. In order to use their fame they will be talk- ing about Kony on Twitter, Facebook and other social networks. The goal is to make Joseph Kony a household name and catch him by December 31, 2012. The United States has already deployed 150 troops to train Ugandian forces. As the year pro- gresses, the government might withdraw our troops without support from US citi- zens, to show your support you are able to purchase Action Kits, Posters, Brace- lets, and Shirts although most are sold out now. The Movement I Cover The Night O n Friday, April 20, 2012 Invisible Children Inc. is holding an event to mass spread Joseph Kony's name all across America, and to make him famous, this event is called COVER THE NIGHT. It is where, we, the citizens and support- ers take action and put up posters, stick- ers, and portraits of Joseph Kony in every major city in America and in other coun- tries as well. The goal is to promote awareness of Kony's actions in Africa even though we are around the world. The thing is, though, where you stick your posters must not be illegal and if it is it may be viewed as vandalism. n order to gain people's attention on what atrocities are happening in Uganda, the child army " W ithin a day, a controversial conflict inspired most teens and adults; it warmed their hearts, it struck a chord, it made them want to do more with their life - and save a life that was over 8,000 miles away. Over night, we had all become social activists. Who knew a thirty minute video could change our perspective on life? I'm not going to lie, I immediately bought an action kit after the video was over. How could you not? With every great idea, or polemical thought must come backlash and critics opined that something must be entirely wrong with the Kony Movement. But their curiosity on where donations go and how they are distributed are valid questions. When I first bought the ac- tion kit, I didn't even think where the money went. I just felt like I was doing something important. Was I? Approx- imately 60% doesn't even come close to Africa. From financial reports only 37% goes to African Programs. We don't think Americans should be the world police, that is not what we are advocating.
