It is based off an old television series of the same name. It is a surprisingly funny movie with a good amount of action and a whole lot of heart. The movie revolves around two immature cops who are sent undercover to a high school to stop a deadly new drug craze. I didn't have high expectations for this movie and I was pleasantly surprised at how witty it was. The plot of the movie is that two high school acquaintances, a jock and a nerd, find each other at a police academy seven years later. The nerd is good at the law quizzes and the jock is good at the physical aspects of the academy. They team turner.com Doug and Brad aka Schmidt (Hill) and Jenko (Tatum) attempt to make their first arrests. up to pass the academy and become best friends. On their first day they see a man doing drugs, so they tackle him to the ground and shoot wildly into the air in reaction to their first arrest. The man gets off clean because they forgot to read him his Miranda rights, and the cops are moved to a Opening April 5th Red Bluff's source for all the hottest title from Marvel and DC Comics, Magic the Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh, Hero Clix, and the role playing games, as well as collectibles and board games. 331 Pine St. Red Bluff 736-7696 James and Tina Robertson, Owners program that takes young and immature cops and uses them in high schools. I was surprised at '21 Jump Street' a funny comedy based off an old television series. Bluffer Staff Pick 'What Dreams May Come' (1998) Ryan Fisher Staff Writer "What Dreams May Come" starring Robin Williams plays a man, Chris Nielsen, whose children die in a car accident and leaves Chris and his wife Anna (Annabella Sciorra) in agony and depression. Four years later, on their anniversary, Chris dies in a freak car accident and goes to heaven. His heaven consisted of the paintings his wife and him have painted of what their dream was after they retired. His wife, who is depressed of the recent death, commits suicide and goes to hell. Chris finds out that his wife has gone to hell and decides he has to leave heaven and go literally through hell and back to reunite his family once again. On his journey to find his wife, he finds out that his kids have taken shape of important figures that have been in his life, either because he said they were nice people or a heroic icon to him. I thought this movie was very good. The beginning of the movie starts out vague but then slowly starts to make sense after you figure out what is One Stop All Red Bluff High School students receive a FREE 24oz Fountain Beverage with a purchase of a freshly made deli sandwich. 714 Walnut St. Red Bluff Come visit our deli: freshly made sandwiches made to order. Funny man, Robin Williams did a fantastic job in the serious move role this is. At first, I found it hard to think of Williams as a serious actor and not say anything funny. Then, throughout the movie, he laid down some really lame puns, but he still did a good job acting his part though. This movie has a good casting list which obviously involves Robin Williams, but also has Cuba Gooding Jr. and Max von Sydow. There were many times in the movies that were sad, so if you cry easily in movies beware because it gets pretty sad. One of the sad parts is were he has to talk about his kds at their funeral. He did a great job at acting during this part. It sealed the deal for for me to picture him as the right actor for the role. I, personally, loved this movie because of what Chris does to get his wife back so they can spend their afterlife together. I am not into romantic movies, but this film had romance and many other genres to make the movie good. I would reccomend this movie to anyone who likes a good love story and Robin Williams. how good some of the humor was. It made me laugh out loud several times. The acting is pretty good as well. I thought that Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum made a good cop duo. This movie was also surprisingly touching without getting cheesy, which is a hard thing to do with an action comedy. All in all, "21 Jump Street" is a funny movie that is worth the money. I would recommend it to anyone who doesn't mind a lot of swearing and drug use, a whole lot of drug use. It is a great cop movie that is too good to miss. A movie with an incredibly deep message. 'Chasing Brooklyn' engrosses readers with romance, plot Xarayna Sekscenski Staff Writer 'Chasing Brooklyn' by Lisa Schroeder is a compelling, heart warming book you don't want to put down. The author Lisa Brooklyn portrays an inside look to a teenage love and tragic death story. The main character, Brooklyn, loses the love of her life, Lucca, to a tragic car accident. A year later Brooklyn can't sleep, because it is his anneversary of his death. Her boyfriend died a year ago and since then it's as if she's just stopped living, too. Nico, Lucca's brother is trying to cope with the loss of his brother. Reading this book gives the readers some sense of "young love" and how it can be overwhelming and life consuming. Things start getting worse when their friend Gabe kills himself, due to an overdose and he seems to be haunting Brooklyn in her dreams. The only time he feels normal is when he goes running. Nico is struggling, too, as it appears that Lucca's ghost is visiting him, demanding that he help Brooklyn. With the haunting memories of each other's past, they become strangely close to one another. They start to bond over time they begin an everlasting love of fire, which will show later in the book how their lives start to turn around. But not everything is so perfect in a world of regret, disappointment and death. Reading this book, I could not just simply throw it down, my hands were "glued" to it. I am not much of reader, may I mention, but the author does a outstanding job of creating a sense of wonder, lust, pain and enjoyment. 'Chasing Brooklyn' will suck you into another world. I recommend this book to anyone who likes to read "addicting" stories with twists and turns. 'Chasing Brooklyn' a gripping book with twists and turns
