This will be the 17th year for the summer concert series and it is a great reason to come Uptown and enjoy music, neighbors and friends. Concerts will be the first and third Thursdays of the summer, from 5:30-8:30 pm, in Uptown Shelby on the Washington St. side of the Court Square. The season starts with a bang on June 2 with The Ocean Blvd Band and their traditional beach music and hometown person- alities. June 16, the Tater Family Travelling Circus hits the court square with their blend of rock and roll and the voice of their lead singer Luke Edwards. July 7, The Folsom Prison Gang comes to Uptown Shelby for the first time. Their Johnny Cash tribute band is great entertain- ment and a lot of fun. Summerdaze Band is back this year on July 21 with their great variety, saxophone and dancing in the street. August 4th EverGreen is playing a blend of rock and roll with the smooth and soulful vocals of Scott Moss. This year our season closes with an all time favorite beach band The Fantastic Shakers on August 18th. Bring your shagging shoes and be prepared for a night of dancing and singing.
