Tuesday, March 31 - Infant & Child CPR, 6:00 PM New Support Group For Depression and Bipolar Disorder Now people living with depression or bipolar disorder will have a new place to find hope, help and support. The local chapter of the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA) will host regular, confidential, peer-led, self-help support group meetings on Tuesdays from 6:30 – 8:00pm at The Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, Shelby. DBSA support groups are open to anyone who is diagnosed with a mood disorder, has a family member or friend who is diag- nosed, or who thinks they might have depression or bipolar disorder (also known as manic depression). DBSA support groups are not run by professionals, but instead offer peer- to-peer support which is an important component of recovery from mental illness for many people. DBSA is the nation’s leading patient-directed organization focusing on the most prevalent mental illnesses – depression and bipolar disorder. The organization has over 400 independent local chapters that operate over 1000 self-help support groups around the United States. Shelby Parks & Recreation 2011 Baseball & T-Ball Sign-Ups Sign-ups for baseball (leagues 8-17 years) will be held now through Friday-April 1st. Sign-up hours are 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Mondays-Friday. Special sign-up day will be Saturday, March 26th from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Sign-ups include Pee Wee Baseball (8-10 yrs), Little Tar Heel Baseball (11 & 12 yrs), Junior Tar Heel Baseball (13 & 14 yrs) and Senior Tar Heel Baseball (15-17 yrs).
