Activities will also include games, sto- rytelling and activities for the children. CVS Pharmacy will provide bottled water and be available to take pictures of children with the Easter Bunny, is offering a discount on a 4 x 6 print and a drawing for an Easter basket for a lucky boy and girl. One gold egg will be mixed in with the other eggs in each age category and each child that finds the golden egg will receive a $25.00 gift certificate from “Toys R’ Us”. The Easter Bunny will arrive by fire truck to begin the egg hunt. Mauney Memorial Library, the YMCA, Cleveland County Childcare Connections and Higher Learning Childcare Academy will also be participating in the event. The Easter Bunny will “hop around town” and visit various daycare centers, assisted living centers and the Patrick Senior Center on Friday, April 22nd. For additional information, please call 704-734-0333. Jane Willis showed us their antique eight sided bolt bin inside the store. Tommy Willis was a member of the U.S. Navy SeaBees, got married and had his first son, Ernie in 1957. Four years later, in September of 1961, he decided to go into business for himself. Tommy was in the pro- cess of building metal work tables when his wife, Jane, was in the hospital getting ready to give birth to their second son, Steve. Their reputation for quality work is impeccable and the knowledge that it takes to do this kind of work is rare. Jane and Tommy’s second son, Steve is the heir apparent and the main man with the company. He grew up around and in the business and started learning when he was just eight years old. Steve, today is highly regarded as one of the best in the business. Tommy and Jane have been married for 57 years and both are in their 70’s. In 2007 the family had a scare and crisis when Jane developed leukemia. She is doing fine today, after exten- sive treatment in Winston-Salem. Todd, Jeff, and Jeremy are proud of their popular meat packages. On January 18th, owners Todd Jordan and Jeff Ames, of the Stagecoach Market in Lawndale celebrated their 10th year in business. Their market was one of the first to offer the “meat bundles” to the public. Their most successful offering in meat department is the Black Angus and they draw customers from several counties. The Stagecoach Market is located at 1015 W. Stagecoach Trail in Lawndale. On August 1, 2002, they bought, refurbished and opened the Stagecoach Grill at 226 E. Stagecoach Trail directly across from Burns High School. One of the menu items that immediately became a hit was their Black Angus beef burgers. Son Jeremy Jordan, who helps at both locations, is launching his career as a Electroneurodiagnostic Technician. He graduates this May and will begin working at Mission Hospital in Asheville. –M. A. Volunteer Joe Hurdt gives Susan McGlone’s dogs,”Toby” and “Baby”, their free shots. Over 1,000 folks turned out for Cleveland County’s Health Department’s annual drive- thru vaccine clinic last Sat- urday. Flu and Tdap shots were offered to children and adults at no cost and free rabies vaccines were avail- able for dogs and cats. The event lasted from 8:30am til 4:00pm and was sponsored by the Health Department. The next clinic will be held at Kings Mountain High School on Sat., June 18th beginning at 8:30 am.
