A major ridge will swell over the Southeast states late week into this weekend, meaning our temperatures are going to skyrocket. A strong high pres- sure and a bubble of warm air aloft will overspread much of the southern and eastern states, and it looks to last a while. Our temperatures, just like gas prices, are going up, up and up, into the 80s! We’ll be very much above normal and it will take until late next week before the pattern changes to more normal values. There’s the chance a Canadian air- mass will try to push down the east side of the Appalachian mountains on Sunday, but if it does, it will get pushed right back out of the way by next week with the next strong warm surge. All the weather action will be out west with clouds and rain and mountain snow. The longer range maps have another cold airmass invading us later in the month, but for now enjoy the warm and sunny days. With the rain and warmth lately, its about time for grass cutting.
